that's a nice set up, once i figure out if i am getting deck system or not i may simply do a bed tank like this but a custom one that takes up the first 6-8" of the bed to maximize tank and bed space
hahaha yes i have done that before however my bed will be full of other things and i like to refill my OEM tank at highway speed with the flip of a switch as i'll usually drive from CT out to mid almost Indiana before stopping.
ok fair point, i'll look into that as well. i haven't seen frame issues on these but then again i have not really looked into what you can hang off the back of these.
why would this not work on the diesel if i wanted to remove the OEM completely?
even still the plan is for an additional tank as i drive cross country similarly in my f450 where i have a small pump to transfer from the aux tank in the bed to the OEM in frame tank giving me 900-1500 mile range...
these are rated to tow 7k on a bumper hitch plus bed payload rating and then there is already a spare tire in there. 32 gallons of fuel is 225lb then maybe another 50 of tank/skid on top of that so i wouldn't worry about it at all
clayton offroad is in Hamden so have you called them yet? i'm not sure if he does installs anymore but if not they'll know who can be trusted in the area
Researching JTs now and wondering what most of these are for door clearance height with a 3.5" Clayton long arm and 40"s.
my garage door is a little over 80" and while i don't have to park inside i would really prefer it plus when i do mods i don't plan on being in the driveway for all of it
i have seen those however for 2700 to only get 17 more gallons is beyond a no go for me when for that cost or possibly even less get 32 where the spare tire goes.
