Gusseting, regearing, RCV Shafts and re-tubing the axle would be a killer labor fee at a shop. At the point, just get a new axle assembly. If you're not on 37"+ tires, aired down and hitting rocks hard, it's probably not needed with the current JT axles.
Either way, the axle doesn't impact...
You have the beginning stages of "death wobble". Go through and check the torque on all of your suspension and steering components. If everything is tight, your rod ends or ball joints are starting to go.
43K miles on 37s will take a toll on the factory joints.
Team 0w30 for the win! I noticed the same when I switched mine a few thousand miles ago to the same weight. I went with HPL and it’s been great so far.
Correct, oil temp at the sump could be different. That’s completely speculation though without a new temp sensor installed. Comparing apples to apples sensors wise, all the temperatures and pressure are right on par with what I noticed using 0w20. I am one of those weirdos that has the sensor...
I’ve been running 0W30 in mine for about 1000 miles now. MPGs and engine temperatures are all very similar to 0W20. I will say the engine is noticeably quieter and very smooth now. This is especially true at engine temps above 220°F when off roading.
I wouldn’t worry about it if I was you.
The lab that you chose to test your oil doesn’t actually test for fuel dilution. This is a notorious issue when using Blackstone oil analysis services. They estimate that number based on other factors. I suggest using an accredited laboratory that uses a...
My 24 rubicon shifts spots on. 10,000 miles on it and I’m averaging about 20 mpgs on my daily commute. The only time mine sees anything above 3.5k or 4K RPM is when I’m intentionally heavy on the gas pedal. Even then, if I let it get to 5000 or 6000 RPM, it doesn’t stay there for very long at...
I wouldn’t worry about it. It looks like the filter did its job. Just make a note of it when you log the oil change in the service history and keep the images you have.
When I changed my factory fill at 500 miles, I was very surprised as the high amount of metal I found in the filter. Given the...
