They'll be selling these turds across the planet. Although with the time gap between the older defender model and this one.. the Toyota trucks have filled in that gap pretty well. Hilux and Prado models.
The 2020 Defender looks like 3 row seating. LR is going with a long and short version of the new Defender (90 and 110?) for now with the "130" in works with the 3rd row.
Orange Rubicon at Toledo. Only picture I had without my kids in it. You can see how the display is inside the perimeter fence. I parked on the side of the delivery driveway. I didn't get much closer as the security guy was coming for us.
Totally agree with the name concerns.
Meanwhile the Cherokee are OG Americans. What better people to name anything after?
Africa could be something like the Dakar, Serengeti, or even just the "Wrangler Safari Edition".
There's one on display in Toledo. They get mad when you go inside the fence and look at it though. I was just there this weekend.
Sucks you can't even park near the big Jeep logo and take pictures of it.
Power windows and locks are standard on the Rubicons.
You can install the half door on a Rubi, but you'd have to disconnect the standard features of the Jeep.
But the lower models can come with non power windows and locks still. I'd bet if you're using the Jeep builder and add the power group...
Wonder why there isn't a Durango version for Jeep with three rows. Seems like an easy way to make a 'Wagoneer' model. Then, whenever Jeep figures it out, offer a larger body Grand Wagoneer.
It's bigger than the GC.
Jeep could make it a classic easily:
I assume it's the same...
Remember these:
Look how obtrusive the folded down top was - for a 2 door.
The JT has several advantages to what was offered then on the Dakota.
1. The rear window completely removes.
2. Area between the back seat and the bed is slightly bigger than the Dakota.
3. Jeeps look normal with...
Base model F150 ('Work Truck') starts at $28,500.
I wish the JT could be had that cheap. I highly doubt it with 4x4 and dana 44s standard. I'll assume the starting point for the JT will be a hair under $40k.
The work truck market isn't a high profit market. Not that it's a bad thing, but why compete with other trucks that can hit the work truck market with a lower price point? That said, it's a stigma that could be had that Jeep may not have wanted.
But why would a work vehicle need removable doors...
Makes sense. One of the Jeep pictures used for the banner has it in that position. You can see that the door surround doubles as the rear support for the top along the rear.
Sunrider flip top still the same?
EDIT - Watched video. The sunrider open will stack up behind and above the rear seat...
I was disappointed to see the KM3s. I really liked the KM2s. Heck, Jeep was selling JKs with the KM(1)s earlier this year.
I presume the angled side blocks help with traction, but I preferred the non-sloped look myself.
