  1. Need some assistance on which year to buy

    1. I can’t help myself - depreciation will always be a thing, unless there is an extenuating circumstance tilting the market temporarily. 2. New is the way to go IF you can get a phenomenal deal that essentially compensated for the depreciation. I bought my 23 for 15 grand off MSRP. When it was...
  2. Wife's buying something new. She hates JL/Ts... Hoping to talk her into a 4 Runner....

Yup, you’re talking about like 25k, especially with current interest rates. It can’t get you much anymore. We just went through the process of buying a second vehicle as well. Ended up with the Grand Cherokee L. Saved an insane amount with the rebates and dealer discounts.
  3. Windshield insurance

I was just updating my insurance coverages and had considered this. However, when I had a windshield replaced in 2022 on a wrangler, that claim still shows on my recent insurance history. When I shopped around for rates, one company even said they couldn't insurance me because I had 2...
  4. LEAKING! less than 2 yrs old. Please any help or suggestions

100% I get it. But it really did used to be way more of a common courtesy that you could expect. More dealers just started saying “nope sorry” and now that has become the norm. Like I said, maybe I’m the outlier to push the issue, but I find it ludicrous when people act like they just don’t care...
  5. LEAKING! less than 2 yrs old. Please any help or suggestions

Yea, Jeep Wave terminology is a little confusing. Not sure if it covers the loaner just for routine maintenance or for warranty repairs - or both. Either way, thats what I told them. Pull up jeep wave and tell me what I’m entitled to. This shoulder shrug “not my problem” attitude drives me nuts...
  6. LEAKING! less than 2 yrs old. Please any help or suggestions

I may be the outlier here, but I would be pitching a fit at the dealership over the loaner issue. This is a much more recent problem I’m seeing, but it used to be a given that a dealership would give a loaner if they had your vehicle for repairs. I had a 21 JLU before my Gladiator and it got...
  7. Tossed on the Tyger hard tonneau this morning

I’ve had the soft tri-fold since I got mine 4 months ago, and I know someone who has had the same one for 3 years. Nothing but positive things to say. Lots of options out there that get pretty damn expensive - IMO for no reason. $230 seemed like the way to go.
  8. Current '23 discounts ending 3/31/24?

I’d say HUGE bluff, but probably not a “lie”. The current deal might expire at the end of the month, then likely a “new” 15% off starting for April. It’s semantics. There have been ads with end dates for months. That date comes and goes but the deals are still there. Bought mine in November...
  9. Are the prices hitting rock bottom?

Agree! The Dark Saddle leather is a great look. I wish they offered it on Mojave, but instead they did the light gray leather option. Not a huge fan.
  10. Are the prices hitting rock bottom?

I bought my 23 Mojave in late November. MSRP was 62.8. I got them to 48.3. Very little flexibility past the “advertised internet price”, but there was a good bit of flexibility on my trade (2021 JLU). Ended up getting a pretty awesome deal overall. When I was shopping around, I saw a lot of...
  11. Theft Prevention: PIN lock, Faraday pouches/boxes... sniper overwatch.

Not sure if I agree this should be it’s own section. I’m torn. As annoying as it is to see 7,342 threads, it does raise the awareness, and it’s a growing problem. But I do agree that there are multiple threads saying much of the same. Tough call. One of these previous threads was mine. Had my...
  12. Opinions on tyger brand?

I’ve got the soft tri-fold bed cover and it has been solid so far. It was recommended by a relative who has had his for 3 years and it’s held up well.
  13. How do I get my my jeep out of Theft Mode ?? HELP

Another vote for insurance. Mine was stolen (successfully) in early January. Thankfully recovered and I have it back now. But let them deal with all the costs. Towing, repairs, and push for in-depth diagnostics to determine any damage that may not be obvious. Especially with the electrical...
  14. Hood Locks. - Easy Install

Glad to hear. Thanks for the feedback. Amazon brands can be very hit or miss.
  15. Hood Locks. - Easy Install

I bought these and they’ve been sitting in the box. Truck was stolen at the beginning of the month, but thankfully it was found. Got these right away to either put on mine or on whatever replacement jeep I would’ve had to buy. Truck is at the body shop now, but hope to put these on first thing...
  16. Stolen 2023 Mojave

Hell, I may just dump concrete all over my truck and let it dry. Good luck stealing a jeep made of stone
  17. Stolen 2023 Mojave

Here’s how I found my truck. Window smashed in, and the glove box sitting in the passenger floor. Haven’t inspected under the hood yet. Hopefully tomorrow they will move it from impound lot to body shop, and I’ll be able to do a walk through with the adjuster to determine the full extent of damages.
  18. Stolen 2023 Mojave

I’ve seen posts talk about the glove box being a problem, but not necessarily a strong way to prevent that access. I bought locking latches from Amazon. Haven’t installed them yet, but they don’t seem like the best locks. Even the more expensive ones I’ve seen don’t look to be the most secure...
  19. Stolen 2023 Mojave

Update: This past week my insurance started the Total Loss process. Wednesday they made me an offer (pretty fair value), but I countered with some additional info. Friday they gave me an updated value and I accepted. They contacted my lender to inform them, and they declared the total loss on...
  20. Stolen 2023 Mojave

Right, and gap just helps cover anything you may owe, not the gap between market value and purchase price. Worried that may have been the case. Hopefully I end up finding something from a nearby camera. Been working on it.
