You make a good point. When the dealership investigates a battery failure under warranty, they hook up BOTH batteries for a few hours and test them both. The test is actually sent to corporate and must show that the battery tested bad before they can replace it. My primary was bad, but the...
Ouch....... Sorry you had to go through all of that but glad that things worked out well.
These Gladdys are not our "fathers" jeeps. They are very sophisticated machines and cost a heck of a lot of money. When we have issues with various things it's not like the '72 Ford pick up that we use...
Wanted to bring completion to this thread.
Your advice and recommendations were "spot on" and very helpful. It was a dying battery and I took it to the dealership and while the battery was nearing it's three years of existence, my vehicle is still under warranty. They tested the battery...
My thanks to all of you for your advice. I am slow to reply as I had to go with my wife to her horseshow and do all of the grunt work so she could carry off all of the ribbons...... oh well.
You are spot on accurate with your recommendations. I hooked a trickle charger to it this morning and...
2021 Mojave, manual trans with only 17,500 miles.
This morning went to start it and engine would not turn over. The lights flashed in regular sequence and all of the dash lights came on. Tried this half dozen times and eventually lights would only flash once.
Any ideas as to meaning? Is it...
I got a formal quote from our Jeep dealer to install the Centerforce clutch. They want $1,500 just for installation.
So........ make sure you get a firm quote before you jump into the deep end of the pool.
This really is disturbing. I got the manual because a) I enjoy shifting gears and b) I figured it would be less problematic than the auto. Feel somewhat disgusted at this point.
Although, while my stock clutch is functioning ok at present, but who knows what tomorrow will bring.
If this was a general chat forum, then it might be a bit of a brag to do it, but given that this is a Jeep Gladiator forum and the vast majority of participants own one variant or another, then it seems logical to fine-tune to the readers what package we have. It can be relevant to our point of...
I won't be so bold to ask you what the dealership is charging you for that install, but I called them last week and got a quote to install the CF clutch. They got back with me and wanted $1500 to install it. Seems unreasonably high to me. I am re-thinking things.
Ok, I have the local dealership in agreement to install a Centerforce and will give me a quote of the cost if I give them the CF product number.
Spartacus, you are the CF expert, can you please share which model CF clutch kit you installed in yours??
thanks,
Well, we are getting differing replies. I sent an email to Jeep about reimbursement if I get this done with aftermarket brand and they replied with this:
"Thank you for taking the time reaching out to us directly. We do not reimburse for parts that is not through Mopar. We do apologize for the...
I get that and I didn't mean to sound so curt in my earlier post but I remember having a chat with my dad back in the early 70's when he was changing the oil.
We were talking about when the "recommended" intervals for oil changes on his Ford. He said he routinely did it at about half the...
9300 miles before first change??? All of those particles of metal from new engine wear floating around in there and they tell you 9300 miles??? That is ridiculous. I changed my first one at 1500 miles to rid the oil of the shavings and new engine particles. Then I go every 5,000.
I'm...
