  1. 2026 Gladiator Quick Release Door Hinge (no tools required) + New Colors

Well, I ordered the $70 brackets and some "bullet" hinge alignment pins, and then went out to take the doors off. But for the first time, I didn't use a ratchet and instead a cheapo electric screwdriver. Wow! lol. It took seconds (3?) each bolt-- same for putting my rear tube doors on-- and I...
  2. Is there a better & easy quick disconnect / coupler for door wiring harnesses?

Me too. But it’s annoying and they know people want to take the front doors off (back ones are fine). It’s like a gym I used to go to that had a row of showers but no towel hooks! You had to do the old man naked stroll, not ideal when with coworkers lol. Hassle proof = better experience
  3. Is there a better & easy quick disconnect / coupler for door wiring harnesses?

Is anyone aware of an "off the shelf" coupler for the factory door harnesses? I have been lucky not to bend the pins inside mine, but am increasingly annoyed at the factory harnesses, having to pry the things open (red, side, etc.) and wish it was just like a trailer hitch plug or something easy...
  4. 2026 Gladiator Quick Release Door Hinge (no tools required) + New Colors

Looks like way too much work for me. Using a throwaway electric screwdriver, net aggregate taking my doors off weekly every summer for years, will still be less total time than doing that once for all four doors. That said, this week I'm going to try the "make your own" version using a cutting...
  5. Massachusetts Warn Rear Tube Doors

    PM inbound.
  6. Question: Aluminum Boat Trailer (4500 lbs loaded) Can’t Take Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH)

Bought it! I bought Airlifts before my trip, jacked up the pumpkin, added jack stands with wood to support the frame, and lowered the axle. I deflated and inserted one bag, after the puck, but was unable to attach the air tube— the stands weren’t tall enough to allow the coil spring to stretch...
  7. Question: Aluminum Boat Trailer (4500 lbs loaded) Can’t Take Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH)

Is there a target psi relative to something when towing? Or just sidewall max? No reference here. Thank you. I’ve always just added a few psi over normal full, so like 40.
  8. Question: Aluminum Boat Trailer (4500 lbs loaded) Can’t Take Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH)

C-Dory 22 (not related to Cape Dory, oddly, made doubly odd that someone bought both the later evolution of this hull and also the naming rights to Cape Dory, and started making a Cape Dory Marinaut 21 which isn't a C-Dory or a Cape Dory (in the traditional sense)). 22' pilothouse modified dory...
  9. Question: Aluminum Boat Trailer (4500 lbs loaded) Can’t Take Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH)

Thanks. That’s all what I had learned prior to my post (and I’m glad it’s here in writing for forum posterity). What I didn’t know, being a < 1 year Gladiator owner but long time forum user, is how bad the “sag” would be in real life. The manual suggests a WDH but doesn’t restrict certain...
  10. Question: Aluminum Boat Trailer (4500 lbs loaded) Can’t Take Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH)

It’s an older boat with a brand new $7500 trailer (allegedly; looks it, and he said he’s got receipts for everything). It’s just a shame it’s aluminum I beam “no WDH, the Y joint can’t take that stress”. Someone mentioned reinforcing, I’m interested in that. I ordered a set of air bags (Air Lift...
  11. Question: Aluminum Boat Trailer (4500 lbs loaded) Can’t Take Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH)

Thanks, everyone. I’ll look into what’s involved with adding airbags myself or if that’s an appointment somewhere. I use the receiver hitch frequently for light trailers but will need to get an adjustable drop hitch so I can set it so the trailer is level post-sag. Appreciate the tip about not...
  12. Question: Aluminum Boat Trailer (4500 lbs loaded) Can’t Take Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH)

Thank you. At 10% quick math that’s 450lbs, so two big boys on the tailgate having beers. It’ll sag down but I can’t imagine it’ll go way down. I just wanted to get a solution before going in case the thing disappoints and really looks unsafe. With a WDH I have no doubts it’d be fine as it’s...
  13. Question: Aluminum Boat Trailer (4500 lbs loaded) Can’t Take Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH)

I’m set to pick-up a 22’ boat on a dual axle aluminum trailer that the manufacturer says cannot accept a WDH due to strain on the “Y” shape. It’s in their FAQ on the website, and I’d read that is the case for many aluminum boat trailers (vs galvanized steel boat trailers or other shape...
  14. Winter Driving - Fishtailing

This is my first winter in mine (diesel Willy’s with the stock mud terrains), and yesterday was our first appreciable snowfall. I drove around town, nothing in the bed, and was bummed but not surprised at how easy it could fishtail. Thing chirps taking turns from a stop on rainy days, so I...
  15. Towing pontoon boat cross country

Just don’t exceed the towing speed of the trailer tires (often 55mph), keep your tires fully inflated (max cold), do your bearings, and bring a spare tire + bearings kit. And bring a real jack plus a small piece of plywood to put the jack on if you break down at a spot with a soft shoulder...
  16. FIRECRACKER RED Gladiator JT Club

I really, really wanted bikini but didn't see it happening, and then my daily driver had so much stuff break at the same time I couldn't wait and hope. I "rationalized" it by going for a diesel, and figured red was a good midlife crisis color, too :) On the Jeep website, there were 3 (three) new...
  17. FIRECRACKER RED Gladiator JT Club

I, too, was disappointed by how thin the materials were compared to my expectations and having seen one last in 2004; felt cheaper than I remembered. I then asked myself if there was a better option for my needs/wants even if thin, and I don’t know of one and will likely treat this as disposable...
