I have have been averaging 23-25mpg around town/mixed and 27-29mpg on the interstate. Letting the TQX do the work vs downshifting and reving seems to net better mileage. On interstate speeds, keeping it under 75mph is key, closer to 70 the better. My mileage takes a big hit when you start...
Has anyone mounted a larger rod case? More salt water rods. most of them are 1pc 7ft rods or less. Trying to figure out how to store rods overnight while in a hotel when offshore fishing. and like 10-12 rods, not 2-4. Love to see some solutions on that.
Thats a good looking truck! I think its funny all the hating on painted bumpers, when people are color matching aftermarket bumpers on jeeps pretty regularly these days. I do like the color matched mirrors. that looks nice.
the ram air channel from the scoop to the air box is designed for the passenger side intake on the gas motors. It might work, but we really need the mirror image for the diesel. Not sure if the intake box is exactly the same as the gas either. Seems like it would sell well if they made it.
Have about 8k on my rubi, stock 33 falken AT tires. Getting 22-24 around town and 26-28 on interstate if i drive reasonable. Doing 80 the mileage takes a big hit. Best i have on interstate is 29.4 on a 200+ mile trip- pretty flat roads in NC/SC.
On install, i did have to remove the wheels and drop the axle to get enough space for the install. I lifted the rear up on the hitch then put jackstands under the frame. tried without jacking it up, just wouldn’t work.
It’s about an inch gap with no load. I might try taking the 1/2 inch spacer out. My boat sags the rear about 3/4 inch with minimum load. You do on occasion feel the rear end make contact with the Timbrens. Not a big deal though.
2021 Rubi Diesel. Love the color and have seen some with red wheels that really pop. Still working on my plan, but will be pretty mild compared to last Jeep.
Been driving my Gladiator Diesel for Almost 2 months now. Just getting it settled in, and no real mods to date. I really like the diesel power and gas mileage. Been getting 27+ on highway trips and 24ish around town. It definitely moves along, but the V8 Jeep is just a different kinda beast...
Jeeps are a blackhole of money… If it makes you happy, don’t worry about it. And it only gets worse overtime… especially when you have to say “which Jeep are you talking about?”
One of the things i always hated about my JK was the swinging door vs tailgate. especially for fishing and parking on the side of the road, that door can be a real PITA. Tailgate is better for sitting and putting on waders too. They really should figure out how to switch to a tailgate on the...
will do, my boat has a pretty light tongue weight and is balanced over the trailer axles compared to the same weight RV. plus no wdh on a boat trailer.
I have not done a “loaded” tow as of yet. Not really even hitting them now on flat towing with no gear in the truck or boat, or not enough to notice anything. Couple of railroad tracks on the way out to the beach that will be a good test when loaded up with gear
