  1. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

I finally got my Bed Rug! It took 3 months, but I am very glad to no longer have a naked bed. It was fairly straightforward to install. I took my time with cutting the holes for the bed lights and the slits for the rear tiedowns. They line up pretty well. I was also very careful with the...
  2. Has anyone had good luck with Superchips or is there better tuning software that provides actual hp gains?

This is exactly what I keep hearing, "I can tune it, but...." I'm fine with it the way it is.
  3. At what point are additional skids needed?

Am I seeing that right that you need to pull a few of the bolts out of the differential cover to mount the skid plate?
  4. Has anyone had good luck with Superchips or is there better tuning software that provides actual hp gains?

Yes, I am very familiar with tuning and racing cars. As I also mentioned, I am not looking for huge gains. I am simply trying to find a reputable tuner who knows what they are doing so they can extract a bit more power out of the Jeep. It is starting to sound like a lost cause though since...
  5. At what point are additional skids needed?

When you say "real rock sliders" are you referring to the differentials, rear of the box, hitch, pinch seams under the doors or something else? I am trying to picture the control arm mounts you are talking about, but I think the right ones get covered up with the Rock Hard front and rear LCA...
  6. At what point are additional skids needed?

I am anxiously awaiting your results because if it works on your truck is certainly should work on mine.
  7. At what point are additional skids needed?

Same on mine- "standard equipment" But on the Jeep website both of our trim levels are listed as N/A with the Dana 44??
  8. At what point are additional skids needed?

Obviously. But here is where things get interesting. On Jeep's website it shows that the 2021 Jeep Rubicon comes standard with the Dana 44 wide front and rear axles. The website also lists my 80th anniversary as being unavailable with the Dana 44's, but coming with Dana M210 and M220 axles...
  9. At what point are additional skids needed?

I was interested in the Rancho skids too, but was told that they only fit the Rubicon with their wider axles. I'm not sure what is different on the Rubicon differential as far as fitment goes.
  10. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

It's just too bad most of the damage to these rails from shipping is on the top side where they would never touch rocks, but where you constantly see it. They are sending a new set out so hopefully, the 2nd set arrives in better shape. They do look awesome installed though as you can see in...
  11. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

I finally decided to put the wider Fuel rims and significantly wider tires on as well as a test fit of the (damaged) Rugged Ridge rock sliders. I really like the 80th anniversary wheels, but these Fuel wheels look so much better, especially with the more aggressive fitment. Just the right...
  12. Why are you guys wasting all this money on bed racks when you can just build one out of wood?

I'm not sure what they are using it for, but it is definitely unique. Initially I thought they took it out of their back yard and shortened the height to fit, but it is exactly the right width. A tube bender would be fun to play with. You could make your own exhaust, a beefy roll cage, some...
  13. Why are you guys wasting all this money on bed racks when you can just build one out of wood?

I thought the same thing about it being treated wood, but it was definitely painted. Lots of brush strokes and a lot darker green.
  14. Why are you guys wasting all this money on bed racks when you can just build one out of wood?

I say this jokingly as I realize the cost of wood these days may not make it as much of a savings as it used to be, but I saw this truck at work today and had to share. A+ for creativity. The build quality looks relatively solid as well. Not sure why it was painted green, but to each their own.
  15. A tale of two Gladiators to get one 80th Anniversary model

I thought I was going to have some cool pics of my new Rugged Ridge rock rails installed today, but they were pretty banged up. I had a feeling this would happen since the box looked like it barely survived world war 3. Lots more pics like the one below, but you get the idea. Still waiting to...
  16. Factory Alpine Premium sound system

Your point is spot on about even something as simple as the color of the wires. I was wiring up my new speakers and the wires were all different colors. And with all of these big cool looking head units, it sure has become hard to upgrade. Not to mention the placement of the speakers in the...
  17. Factory Alpine Premium sound system

This must be more common lately. The upgraded Rockford Fosgate speakers I picked up have a little capacitor in the tweeter as well working as a crossover. All of this new tech sure makes it a lot more interesting trying to upgrade your stereo. I must be getting old...
  18. I am 0 for 2 trying to install skid plates

So do the Rancho differential skid plates fit all Gladiators now and come with the longer U bolt? Extreme Terrain told me that the Rancho differential skid plates are designed for the wide axle of the Rubicon only. I previously heard about the U-bolt issue and figured it was related to the...
  19. SiriusXM sucks on 2021 Jeep Gladiator.

Did this fix the fact that it was too quiet or the issue with the spotty reception?
