So is the DEF system related to all the emissions stuff that is problematic? I read that Scania diesels don’t have DEF and was wondering if that will make them more reliable. Also, if so, how are they able to not have DEF on their diesels? I believe emissions in the EU are tougher than here...

Yes, all boats, not just aluminum ones, use zinc anodes. Even fiberglass boats have them. Also, outboard engines have anodes bolted to them to protect the metal in them. You swap them out every few years. Different situation there though I believe as the anode is meant to attract stray...

Nope, believe it or not you can get chrome steps from the factory! I saw one at my local dealer on a Fircracker red Mojave, looked absolutely terrible. Red paint, black wheels and chrome side steps. :puke:

+1 to the counterfeit concern. A buddy of mine got counterfeit NGK spark plugs there. Only discovered it after his truck started running funny. He pulled the plugs and found one defective. when he replaced them with locally bought plugs discovered the amazon ones looked like bad copies.
