UPDATE, just got back from a 2,500 mile trip. I left two days after installation and even towed a motorcycle trailer the whole way. All in all I'm happy with the kit. A little bit of forward rake, no squeaks but even after an alignment, it still pulls to the right a bit. Swapped tires back...
Took your advice and dropped it off at the local 4WD shop ... don't feel the need to burn up brand new Toyo 37's ... they're not cheap :) Plus, this way I'll know for sure that it's aligned professionally and properly.
OK so new issue ... competed the lift and adjusted the steering wheel as expected ... the truck pulls pretty hard to the right and now I have a nasty vibration at anything above 70mph ... WTH ?? Checked the "Driveway Alignment" and it's right at 1/8" difference. At a loss
Hoping @Rock Krawler Suspension chimes in here with recommendations or answers ... I have $4,500 in parts sitting in my garage until this is figured out. In the meantime, if you're in DFW and want to buy this kit, we may be able to make a deal
Yep, I think their site says 1/2" rake on a Rubicon, although we don't know if that measurement was from the fenders or rails like you measured ... if the shocks were engineered for 1/2" rake, then completely level "shouldn't" be an issue I would think ... however the key there is "shouldn't"...
This was what I have been fearing and hence why it's all still sitting in boxes in my garage along with the tires and wheels. I'm now thinking I'll wait for the 4.5" front springs to come out from RK before I do the install and pitch the 3" front springs in the trash. Curious if you try the...
So is it just a notch for the zerk that is needed, or is it an articulation issue with the control arm itself that would require that much material removed?? The less needed to cut away the better IMHO.
Didn't budge an inch on my last RK kit on a JK. I agree a consideration as is with any additional equipment, but 1.5" seems excessive unless that bumper is off of a Peterbilt
Looks like you have a fair amount of rake ... have you measured to see the difference between the front and rear heights ?? I have this same kit, but concerned that the rake is excessive. Thanks
Whoa, 1.5" to almost level it with a steel bumper and winch?? I've had this kit siting in the garage for a little while, and just recently picked up the tires and wheels to do it all at the same time, but now I'm rethinking this kit. Had RK on my JK and loved it, but if I have to do a spacer...
