Got the badge and the broken passenger mirror to prove it (tree jumped right out at me! Honestly!!). I split afterward to do a sailboat race, so no Mt. Wash for me this time.
I’m bring a dizen eggs, bacon, tortillas and the best hot sauce (Trader Joes). Let’s have a good fry up (my wife is British) to get us prepped for the climb!
Okay, so here is what I have so far:
Jay & Jenn (SUPAZUK) - 87
Jack & Pat (JAXMAX) - 97
Jeremey (Minty JL) - 99
Glenn (GlennBeck) - 103
John (40x40) - No site listed (Update please, John)
Itinerary -
Friday:
- Possible Jericho pre-run run. I can be up there by 1100 and whoever wants to...
I have my hi-lift and axe loaded also. Had to remove the chainsaw. No room. Reseated my hoist rope and tested my under hood compressor. I think I've got everything but my food and spare undies packed.
Weather is going to cooperate. Don’t forget that the base of the Auto Road to the top of Mt. Washington can have a 40 degree difference! Bring a hoody!
I will be up mid-morning to lunch time. About a 2 hour drive from Frye Island, Maine on Sebago Lake. As everywhere up this way, there is spotty cell phone service as if we are in 1985!
All four GMRS handhelds are charged and set to channel 21/0 as is my truck radio, so we all can have comms on the trail with spotters and crew. I have two Midlands and two DeWALTs that all have good range.
Good luck and hoping for the best. My buddy who was originally going to attend has had to bail because of a failed hip replacement requiring revision. Too painful to sit in the truck for this event.
Hope you can find a solution. My buddy had to back out with a botched hip surgery keeping...
Sorry, guys, I’m way behind the group on updates. I’ve been up every day at 5;30 doing school and the 4th of July week & weekend was full on firefighting/EMS busy time. My Gladiator has all the same recovery gear and a high lift. Hopefully we don’t need anything but always good to be prepared.
