  1. Metalcloak lift

The rear payload i believe is the issue with the RockSport shocks. Probably need more R&D time to develop.
  2. Metalcloak lift

Me too. My assumption is that the RK springs would afford more on road feel and control aka more sports car like handling yet with the travel and ability to do what you want off road. But without being able to compare it`s hard to say if one is better than the other. Either way once i make a...
  3. Metalcloak lift

This is what Metalcloak told me at the off road expo. For spirited off roading, desert, over landing ect. use a basic shock and for rock crawling use their long travel six pack shocks. Straight from the horses mouth.
  4. Metalcloak lift

It looked good on the Gladiator when i saw it in person.
  5. Metalcloak lift

+1. I just viewed it all as conversation among members asking and sharing. I`m glad your proactive most suspension manufactures seem unwilling to share much with the consumer almost as if they do not want to be bothered.
  6. Gears for 37" tires

Before i bought my Gladiator i asked about 37`s for the Gladiator as my previous Jeeps did need a regear to run 37`s. After getting my Gladiator i was pleasantly surprised at the overall pep and performance of the drive train. After reading here about those running 37`s, attending several shows...
  7. EVO 4.5" Overland Stage 1 w/KING Shocks and Metalcloak Control arms/Track bars

Seeing most Gladiator lifts in person the EVO 2.5 lift compared to the Metalcloak 3.5 lift in height along with the RK 3 inch lift, depending on what you want this could be a good or bad thing. Metalcloak makes great control arms, i would not hesitate to use these up front along with a Steer...
  8. First Diesel Wrangler JL/JLU Reviews Are Out

I understand well whats in the video, your not understanding what i posted reread. The video explains normal driving. EGR sensors on diesels function under different conditions than gas engines and there can be 3x as many combine this with the DPF sensors and and what can fail has been...
  9. First Diesel Wrangler JL/JLU Reviews Are Out

The 3.6 has a sweet power band for off roading it`s just right not sure a turbocharger would be a benefit or a hinderance. There is a thing as too much power and torque for serious off roading. Many years ago i had a Land Rover 106 with a 4 cylinder it was so sweet then Land Rover comes out...
  10. First Diesel Wrangler JL/JLU Reviews Are Out

I said up a grade. On the 395 leaving Bishop headed towards Mammoth is a grade that you most likely have not experienced it`s the grade that all of the manufactures test their trucks pulling loads and it`s a common sight to see them testing, i have also had the benefit of talking to the techs at...
  11. First Diesel Wrangler JL/JLU Reviews Are Out

I really hope the Gladiator diesel works out to be positive. But being a long time diesel owner 40yrs.+ and going thru EGR diesel ownership the last 14yrs. for me the Gladiator diesel is at least a 50000 mile wait and see as with a diesel and EGR you have increased 5 times on what can go wrong...
  12. Storm Trooper Build

Metalcloak has a 2.5 lift available.
  13. Gears for 37" tires

Parts are not that expensive it`s the labor That`s $$$. An experienced person can do one end in a couple of hours a really good person with Spicer gears could do it in an hour. The shops know that most do not want to do this so they take advantage. I did a gear swap four years ago and it took me...
  14. Worth the wait?? EVO vs RK

For what it`s worth i would wait for the RK lift.
  15. Control Arm Torque Settings

No one has installed their own lift? Since an angular torque tool cannot be used on the control arm bolts does anyone know the torque values in foot pounds of angular degree and factory ft. lbs. combined as i believe this would give me the proper values for correct torque per factory.
  16. BLack Friday /Cyber Monday sales thread

    Metalcloak 10%.
  17. Trail Mods Gladiator Build [SEMA 2019]

Great bed rack, being able to load a dirt bike has my attention.
  18. Control Arm Torque Settings

For those that have installed their own lifts what torque settings are you using for the upper and lower control arms both front and rear? This is my first jeep with degree settings added to the torque settings and upon inspection it looks impossible to get an angular torque degree wheel on the...
