  1. Manual Sucks

Yep I get it. I went 5.38s on my Gladiator and 37s it’s amazing! Was just about to regear my JLUR then got a killer deal for the gladiator that I could not pass up. ($4500 over what I paid new for my 3 year old JLUR in trade and still got $2k off my Gladiator) Cheers
  2. Manual Sucks

Fair point. I will certainly concede to it being more like a 5 speed ;-) Ultimately the point I am trying to make is given the limited torque and horrible aero, 5th gear is almost as equally worthless as 6th especially after putting 35"+ tires on without regearing. A better design decision would...
  3. Manual Sucks

I had the manual transmission on my JLUR...I am a hardcore manual guy and was really disappointed. As previously posted, it is basically a four speed with horrible ratios then two overdrives that the torqueless motor cant pull. Everything was exacerbated even further after 35s without regearing...
  4. Line X liner for hardtop

I am planning to do something similar but in a contrasting color. I plan to try Monstaliner...will do my bumpers / sliders first to make sure I know how to lay it down then try the hardtop. Cheers
  5. Am I crazy for thinking I want a Gladiator?

Yea the axles are a big one too…even with a 392 or maybe 5.7 you would be on borrowed time if you actually use the power now and then. Slippery slope.
  6. Am I crazy for thinking I want a Gladiator?

Same thoughts…but went from a JLUR to my Gladiator for a reason and I have finally found the (near) perfect vehicle for me that does everything I need it to. I say near perfect because I really want a v8 in it, if the 5.7 was a $4k option from the factory it really would be perfect. But if im...
  7. Am I crazy for thinking I want a Gladiator?

Awesome to see someone else that went from Golf R to Jeep. I had a 2018 and loved it, very competent and really fast especially with a tune! I did drive fast pretty frequently but was t boned by a red light runner…went to Jeep (JLUR then my JTM) and never looked back. Jeeps are awesome to...
  8. Switching from M/T to A/T results

No hate from me regarding KO2s, I honestly don’t understand the hype they suck. I had the exact experience as you…not just bad but literally the worst tire on everything except bone dry asphalt/ dirt roads. Which isnt saying much since just about everything this side of a bogger is good on dry...
  9. Mojave and AEV 2” lift

This! I did the exact same thing and recommend it as well. I went with Rancho geo brackets on the middle hole. Caster is much better at 7 degrees and drives like a dream. Cheers
  10. 5.38s with 37s

Awesome and congrats on the great price for the install!! Thanks for sharing your write up! Apologies for my slow reply, I Have no idea why I never saw an alert for this thread the past two weeks. I will admit my fuel mileage has been lower the last couple of tanks partially because I have...
  11. Flipping a coin Salta XR or fifteen52 analogs HD

I went with 1552s and thought the backspacing was bang on! Will paint them once warmer weather comes around.
  12. Thoughts? fifteen52 Analog vs. Black Rhino Recon

Thanks and you guys did the best balance job on tires to date! 100% smooth as glass at all speeds! Cheers
  13. Anyone have the Supertop 2 from Bestop installed on their rig?

Not sure if bestop offers a solid canvas rear panel. I have one on my Softopper for this very reason. Can’t see anything out if the back window in winter anyway. Cheers
  14. Calling owners of the following sliders: RockHard 4x4, RockyRoad, Ace Engineering, White Knuckle, and Expedition One $1200+/- budget

I have the Expedition One. Had to wait 7 months or so but the welds and powder coating are top notch! They are stout, look amazing, and have a functional step. Wasn’t a fan of drilling the six holes but they are as strong as you can get for not being a frame mounted slider. I also have their...
  15. MT Baja Boss A/T vs Baja Legend EXP

Baja boss. And the ATs are the only all terrains with a 50k mileage warranty which is great regardless of where you live. You live in Florida so maybe try the MTs since mud is most likely the terrain you encounter off road and they have been phenomenal in all conditions I have put them through.
  16. How long did your windshield last before cracking?

My JLUR had the original windshield when I traded it in after three years. My Gladiator made it five months on the first and 9 months on the second. Waiting a month or so before replacing this one. Thank you $0 deductible glass coverage!
  17. 5.38s with 37s

Yea my tires are brand new basically. Sorry to hear about your shoddy axle work though that’s crazy!
  18. 5.38s with 37s

Awesome thanks for posting comparison pics!! And yea, I never drive 80 either but did for this lol. These look really close actually. Angle of camera could influence this a bit but reality is 5.38 and 5.13 are not too different. Realistically something like 100-150 rpms. There may be a slight...
  19. 5.38s with 37s

Mine will pull a small grade in 8th from around 70mph+ You are already running 37s so I wouldn’t hesitate to go 5.38s. 85 mph on 37s may be a bit much but at 80 it’s comfortable and not straining. I never go much over 77 mph in any of my Jeeps / trucks anyhow so this is perfect.
  20. 5.38s with 37s

    80mph up a steep grade:
