Just ordered diesel Rubicon from Hendrick Jeep in Wilmington, NC. They're local to me and have been matching the "Tri-City deal", so I got the 7% below invoice with Tread Lightly and financing deal as well. Dana at Hendrick is awesome!
Did the dealer get an "unavailable" type message when they started the Rubicon order? We did, the manager said those orders are on hold or something, which would mean maybe an extra 2 week wait.
Sitting at the dealership to order a diesel Rubicon, and base msrp plus several options/packages have increased in price. Many packages have increased by $100, and the MT tires are no longer a zero cost selection.
Jeep builder doesn't reflect the changes, but they're in the ordering system.
I would pay cash, but if financing saves some money up front, I'd do that - but is there a minimum time frame it must be financed before it can be paid off in full? Like you said, if I have to pay $2k in interest to save $500, well, that's kinda dumb.

I'm moving cross country (the day after Xmas) from Idaho to NC, which could take up to a week. When I get there, I'll be selling my Chevy 3500 and downsizing to a Gladiator. I keep going back and forth between a Mojave and a diesel High Altitude. Seems like overall I'll get more for the money...
