I know my math on this is rough but rough estimate is an additional 7-8 gallons or 26-28 litres if it sits flush with the heat shield, equating to about another 124 miles or 200km.....very rough. Just taking my tire dimensions and depth of heat shield
I heard somewhere that someone was working on an extended range spare fuel tank to go in that location, but nothing has been confirmed online anywhere, that would be ideal for me as I am going to be buying either the JCR or ExpeditionOne rear bumper with swing arms for my full size...
There are only three in my town, one Rubi, my overland and a sport S (wifes') I'm sure we all get the same attention, but just the other day while waiting for Son to be done at hospital....a random dude walks over and starts to have a 15 min conversation asking about mileage, payload, ride...
really big dogs like a mastiff are a good theft deterrence, unless you get one like mine and you have to wake it up first before it does anything, :CWL:
I did that as well, and will eventually get a bumper with swing arm for mounting spare, I like the look and having it up there will allow me to get at it when needed in uneven/ water logged terrain
the only thing I changed from stock is the tire and wheels, went to 33's and only a combined 11lb heavier wheel (all four)….I will have to say that 80-85% of my driving is hwy at 50pmh or above, I have found that consistency on the roads here is more critical for sustained good mileage than high...
It's kind of like the bike wave with the peace sign below the handlebars (used to be a biker, injured and can no longer ride), that is a biker thing, and the Jeep wave is a jeep thing...so yes wave away my friends
I have not calculated with the trip meter from fill-up, just reading what the "range" indicator tells me after I fill up at the tank, it could be off, but you have to trust your vehicles sensors right, lmao
I am pretty close to MSL, only at roughly 5-25m above MSL depending on the location on...
I have a daily drive of about 26 miles one way and am keeping speed at roughly 53mph, I know, somewhat granny-ish driving, but keeps the $$ in my pocket longer, so I can afford to get started in my build....once my reno's are finally paid for, lol
definately frustrated....it's even worse here in the north...when the part number was released in the US, Canadian shops didn't even see it in their database....I suspect that here in Canada it will be another year before we get it....
I'm averaging 740 miles per tank, mostly highway, commuting for work, definitely went does as soon as I started working from home, but using less gas as I do not have to drive to work, lol
There are a lot of options, some more solid than others, some with mesh, some without, all down to appearance I think, and pers preference. Hopefully your family finds a good compromise and all feel safe.
I'm going to have to go to local RCMP and see what they are thinking wrt tube doors or...
