What I find "amusing and weird" is how people say they don't care about what others do to their Jeep, yet are triggered by those who disagree with them on what they like to do with their Jeep. I am weirded out by the double-standards :CWL:
On the subject of tint...I've ordered a few pre-cut pieces for the front windows, but every time I apply it the tint looks blueish. Am I ordering the wrong type of tint and does our JT's have a slight factory tint in the glass causing the tint to look blue? I want the fronts to match the factory...
Welcome to the Gladiator family!! I like the advice about driving it for awhile. Although I love the way my JT is now, I did rush into my mods and ended up spending way too much money - not good.
Here is a photoshop version of a cheap sports bar I found on Amazon. The height of it should be around 21" so I think I got the measurements correct in the composite, but I'm actually liking it  The mesh plate thing can be removed and it comes with mounting areas for either led pods or strip.
I learned my lesson with badges of "honor." Having broke a few axles and tie rods snap in half, then having a buddy take the the broken parts down the mountain to a friend's house who did a quick weld, then re-installing it, than driving backwards down the mountain only because the trail was too...
In the 90's as a rad mechanic, a lot of people would come in for upgrades that had extra tubes and brass or aluminum welded tanks rather than plastic. I don't think I've ever experienced an unsatisfied customer after the upgrade. If its on your dime, I say aftermarket. Mishimoto has some cool rads.
I ran 40's on stock D30's with my JKU, only upgrades were steering components with zero axle upgrades. Did very light off roading, mud, dirt and sand but of course for me, it was mostly street driving almost on a daily basis. I bought HD ball joints just in case it would fail but 5 years later...
We had to roll these things full, but getting it into the truck we had to use 2 or more people. I wish we had a crane to load it, my back wouldn't be as bad as it is today. But then again being a Radiator Mechanic for a few years and working on these small lowered vehicles killed my back as well...
Seeing this reminds me of when I used to work for a gas company and rolling these things around the warehouse, its definitely a unique technique once you get used to it haha!
My aftermarket latch was made for the JT / JL, by any chance did you buy the wrong latch that was made for the JK? Do you have the make and model of the new latch you bought?
