In that order… CEL code last week. Found out it was a P026D and suggested to clean the MAF sensor. Truck still ran great holding at 22mpg. Didn’t get a chance to clean the MAF and then a few days later dash lights up like a Christmas tree. Truck shifts into limp mode. Dropped off at a dealer...

  10. Does anyone get this smell? Diesel with fuel additive.

After I had the HPFP replaced I started using Hotshots additive. At roughly the same time I had my oil changed at the dealer and the knucklehead mechanic spilled oil all over the driver side engine compartment (That’s another frustrating story). Initially there was a distinct synthetic burning...

The wife and I just got back from a 2 night 3 day trip to Thomas Mountain In Mountain Center, CA. This may be my new favorite camp. Hauling Base Camp up the mountain was no problem for the JTRD II. The trail was easy. TY @1996XJ and @Matstock4 for your earlier posts On the area. Weather was...
  18. Low oil pressure: design flaw?

Not sure if there is an issue with my ecodiesel. After towing, I back my truck and trailer down the drive way. The driveway is pretty steep. I sometimes park the truck partially inclined so I can unload the trailer. After unloading, when I start the truck back up to put the trailer away, oil...
  19. Hill descent mode

I was out this weekend scouting camp sites on the north side of Palomar Mountain. I was with a buddy with a Tremor F250. Obviously a less, but impressively capable vehicle, I had to slow down because his wife was getting tossed around from the stiffer suspension. As we started our descent to...

Not a good combo. My youngest is learning and this Jeep platform is not the best. Wanders, touchy gas pedal in the 2.0, vague steering in the JT, always wanting to take her hand off the wheel to wave at other jeep ?. Not very good for student drivers. Oh, and limited places to stick the magnetic...
