In 2016 I bought a two door JK. In 2018 the ole lady at the time took off, so I had a few years to myself to spend thousand and thousands of dollars on the Jeep and go off-roading nearly coast to coast. By 2022 I met a new ole lady and she has a couple pups and I was ready for a truck again -so...
The aluminum will still be a raw metal color (silver looking).
The iron boxes are painted black.
I think you'll only find the aluminum ones on 2020's. Someone can correct me on that. It wasn't long after they went to the iron boxes.
To be fair, I don't wheel much, and there is very little mud here in the urban sprawl of the greater BR/New Orleans area (and no snow muck) so it's not like I have to clean away pounds of ick to find a problem.
It's pretty much lay on the ground and look up and go 'Yep, that's effed'.
For sure. Mine is a Sport S Max Tow (I custom ordered it), but I'm used to having low spec vehicles, lol. That being said, other than heated seats and wheel (which I could have ordered) I have everything I ever use, so it works out.
Off the top of my head, I think light mounts that go on the cowl area are different (the cowl panel is taller), and the shocks uses different bolts at the bottom - so lift kits and accessories for a Mojave differ slightly from other Gladiators.
They had little choice on the wiring, since they had to lift the entire body off 😄
But I know what you're saying. When you're tens of thousands of dollars into something like that, you expect some pretty good attention to things.
Not gonna lie, I haven't cleaned under the hood of my Gladiator the entire time I've owned it (a little over three years, 36K miles). The truck as a whole is lucky to get washed every three months sometimes. The interior more often, since I spend time in there 😄
I know. Blurring the lines of cooking.
Whatever.
When you want to be cultured in a hurry. Tasty Bite, Mahatma, chicken nuggets, and a Coors Banquet. Dinner in 10 minutes 😂
Quite good, I promise...
Back in 2019 I did a work trip in New Jersey in January - just across the river from NYC. I was there for two weeks. We had a new rental Caravan to cart everyone around in and I was typically driving one of them. Every morning I'd go get the van and pull it around front of the hotel at about...
I like the Scout a lot - I'm just not sold on the additional complexities of a PHEV yet. If leasing, or dumping it when the warranty runs out was an option - I'd go that route. I'd much rather deal with a full EV beyond that.
That's really what 'they' want anyway. Cars as a service. Just like...
After Hurricane Ida in 2021 (we took a direct hit) it was just shy of two weeks to get power back at my house, then an additional three weeks for internet to come back online. I was pretty excited to have my physical movie / TV show and music collection for that time.
I'm a bit of a gamer, and...
Should have covered the top of the center console lid.
Or literally anywhere else than the dash.
Caught a glimpse of the floor mats.
That's what I'm excited about. Always wanted some thiiccccc luxury carpet mats in my Jeep. They should go ahead and make those an option in the Sahara. Atleast...
I love the whole AEV truck - I'd probably buy one, call it a day, and mod it minimally (if I was in the market).
It would even be hydro blue like Don's.
Actually it would basically be Don's truck before he got ahold of it 🤣
Not picking at the build - I think its great, and if you have the...
I am HARDLY a pro mechanic, but I've done just enough engine swaps so far that unless you are sticking something off the wall where it doesn't usually go - I'm probably not following along.
They're silver, just not as dramatic silver as the AI / computer generated adverts would lead you to believe.
Well - the 85th is a Sport, and Sport Wranglers get that nasty ass cheap bumper still. All models of Gladiators nowadays get the 'nicer' plastic bumper if you don't get a steel bumper...
