Oh man, yeah, the amount of time I've spent thinking about that topic over the last 15 years is insane.
I have to say, my current setup is about as perfect for me as I've found. GentleTent RTT with a decent sized ground tent.
The RTT is small enough you can leave it on to seriously wheel...
Seriously, seriously don't even consider it with 35s imo for your use. I wheeled it with the stock 33, 37s and now 39s. Bigger is needed along with a decent amount of lift. If someone says they are not struggling on 35s, they aren't doing anything very hard (I'm far from a hardcore rock...
Overall I really like it. It's the only option I know of that you don't have to worry about at all running hard as it's to the frame. My last rig I was always thinking about my racks offroading and I hated it. This thing is not even a consideration. It's solid.
Install really sucks. It's...
Nice, those look pretty cool! Only issue is if you really want to be able to wheel, it adds quite a bit of weight and size up top. Just something to consider.
Yes, M.O.R.E. has one. I had them measure my fab four stubby and modify their skid design slightly to fit.
Of course you can get it in black to blend in.
You might have to email them about it. Not sure if it's on their site yet.
How did it do against that ZR2? I came from one and while my JT absolutely kills it rock crawling, they are a little closer for desert and snow runs type stuff.
Thanks!
Nice, well I think the JT is absolutely the best (possibly only?) option with all that in mind. You going with a topper to sleep in, or trailer? Some great options now for toppers.
Lol, I was thinking, damn, pretty harsh! Before I started to get it.
Thanks! It's really been great for an all around rig. Really decent at about everything. Would love to go to 60s someday just for piece of mind and fast desert running, but $$.
Love the step sliders. Stupid expensive, but...
Finally had time to cut the fender liners out to fit the Falcon shocks. Looks so much better!
Also added the fairing to the roof rack and the Clayton Offroad logo as they are a main sponsor.
The fairing makes it a ton quieter.
Getting the Invictus headliners in soon since I saw they now have the rear as well! Having both the noise/weather insulation plus the molle for gear sounds great.
Also super impressed they tested it by hanging the panels upside down from molle. Should hold quite a bit without worry.
Loving my inflatable GentleTent USA RTT, with FrontRunner Slimline II roofrack and RCI bedrack:)
Not as quick to set up as some, but only 50lbs and very small. For serious wheeling where you don't want a huge heavy box up high it's awesome!
Thanks!! Appreciate it. Yeah, I really like them! I have the handles and the center rollbar molle. So nice to have the extra space and room for gear. Probably going to get more at some point.
Thanks!!
Yep, Sony A7Riii and Sony 24-105 for most of these.
I use Lightroom to process 95% and a little Photoshop.

Thanks!!
The tent itself is super durable. The rubber base is basically paddle board material so super tough. The tent material is very thick and tough as well. Obviously still a tent, but it's solid.
The only thing that wasn't great at all when I got mine was the hose for the air pump. Just...
