Yeah its causing some problem for work as well. This is my work vehicle and given i work interstate, im left without any means of using it for my work. Jeep have offered a small hatchback as an alternative, however, im noy allowed to take it interstate because of insurance ...so right now i dont...
guys i just wanted to provide an update on this...
my jeep has been in the workshop for 3 full weeks as of yesterday.
i got a phone call the other day, andfrom the part number i have been given by the dealership, it appears that they have ordered an entire heater hose assembly.
According to...
Interesting that my wife has a 200 series toyota landcruiser, i have a jeep gladiator.
Our maintenance experiences with our cars correlates with that suvey!
I'm wondering...
given this is a brand new engine...that has clearly been installed incorrectly
Its now overheated at least 3 times:
- 1st time when mechanics installed the engine and couldn't bleed the system
- 2nd time when i drove out of my driveway when this first happened to me
- 3rd time...
Had this recommended to me the other day, has anyone tried regularly using this stuff. IEven Subaru have a similar product for their engines.
I've found the product on the MOPAR website, but no usage guide...Im suspicious its safe to use regulary? How much and how often should i use?
If I had the car at home id do that for sure. Its at the dealership workshop though. Might ask them a second time on Monday if a temp fix can be made. I did ask if a temp hose could be put on and they were not keen to do that...warranty!
Might have a the cause for the overheating issue...a kink in one of the heater hoses. Perhaps inadvertantly caused at the time the new engine was installed? (sounds about right given they had trouble bleeding air out of the system at that point in time)
I think the part is on back order though...
Hi guys,
this post is meant for no other reason than to have a genuine light hearted laugh. I want to add the caveat that i really love my car. My hope is a little "raw satire" is ok for these forums? Intro over, here goes...

1. Are you 100% certain that the lower pully (middle of the image) is actually installed correctly? It looks to me like that lower pulley should be installed so that its almost touching the alloy block its mounted to on the kit. I can see it appears to have about a half inch gap...something not...
Note from my original post above...
You can simply buy an after market CV boot for these...that's what i did when i tore a CV boot a while back (before transmission issues).
You will need a couple of important tools in order to complete the task. Thing is, to set yourself up with the tools for...
it is watered down...i only topped it up (with 2-2.5 litres of water) because i didn't want to waste brand new coolant until i know why the reservoir was empty. I wasn't sure whether or not the system was leaking or ingesting the coolant.
From purely visual observations, it doesnt appear to me...
Here. is a link to an unedited youtube video that i started after topping up the reservoir. You will notice that initially the water in the funnel is clear, then once the thermostat opens, it quickly changes colour to pink.
***please wait about 60 minutes after the time stamp on this post as...
Yep once it started to get hot, thermofan increased accordingly.
If I had MOPAR coolant, I would have completely evacuated the system of fluid and air, then refilled.
This method would have ensured no air bubbles (apparently according to youtube vids I've seen)
Thing is, I drove the car for...
No i havent checked that.
tomorrow, iwill put up a youtube video for you guys to look at. Its relating to the chsnging water level in the funnel. It always increases to full funnel, then to below half funnel then back to full again in cycles of about 1 minute.
I am not able to explain why it...
I decided not to fully flush the system. I just topped it up (didnt want to introduce too many variables at once)
The thermostat and pump are both brand new. They were swapped out with the engine change.
I could also see water movment after the first purge session and i did thst hose temp...
Ive got a 2022 gladiator rubicon...leaks like a sieve.
Ive had mine in some deep water over front guard height at times (much deeper than profile image)
I would argue that they all leak pretty badly because mine has from new.
If you take a look under the front doors, there is a vertical sheet...
Update...i tried but failed. As soon as i attempted to drive the car after purging cooling system, the car began to overheat...i didn't even get 300m from our house or above 30km/hr.
Whats ironic about this...i did a little survey...

Local Jeep dealership = 3 jeeps delivered...
well as expected...road side assist weren't much help...but that wasn't the point of getting them really, i just wanted it documented on Jeeps database that a mechanic has looked at the car and photographed that its cooling system reservoir is clearly empty.
Road side assist got out of their...
