I was under the impression that the ARE topper could not support the weight of a tent plus occupants, not to mention a roof rack on top of those things...is that incorrect?

I think he used the 1.5" Teraflex spacers in the front and the 3/4" Daystar spacers in the rear.

Very happy - its very strong and well made, and for the money I feel like you get a lot included. The only small downside was the need for the crossbars to give that extra inch of clearance. If you kept the tent further back then they might not be necessary, but I'm very OCD with that stuff and...

Sure thing! And you're right, its now the Sparrow and Sparrow XL. We opted for what was then the Eagle just to have a little more space on longer trips but both are definitely usable...I got to take a look at both sizes before we bought one. The rack is fantastic, solidly built and a good value...

Got our Roofnest Eagle rooftop tent loaded onto the JT for the first time this weekend...super solid on our Rebel Offroad rack. Can't wait for all the adventures to come this summer!

Got our Roofnest Eagle on the Jeep for the first time this weekend! This sort of tent adds a ton of value as far as setup times and ease of use - absolutely worth it in my opinion.
