  1. Tire poke based on offset for Clayton lift

Clayton 2.5 Overland+. -12 offset Method Beadgrips. 35x11.5R17's. A little over an inch and a half of poke. With 12.5's, I'd suspect you will have another 1/2"+. Probably pushing 2". Maybe 1-3/4".
  2. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Got the Gladiator back in the shop for a Post Clayton Overland Lift / Steering checkup after a 500-ish mile break-in up on the Mogollon Rim in some insane microbursts, then down to Sedona for Broken Arrow and some slick rock articulation fun, then back closer to home for some rutted out nasty...
  3. SPod vs Switch Pros

I did a lot of researching, and ended up choosing neither. I went with the Voswitch. https://www.extremeterrain.com/voswitch-jeep-gladiator-grab-handle-switch-panel-system-8-button-jl800.html?utm_content=XT Interior - Gauges and Switches|Voswitch Super easy install, out of the way but easily...
  4. Grinding metal-on-metal noise when turning

Check the inside rim of the wheels. I had similar - inside of wheel rubbing against front tie rod end. Since it's only happening on turning - especially if you're going lock to lock like when parking - it's unlikely it's the differential. The tire rotation could have moved a wheel that was a...
  5. terraflex tie rods and drag links. are wheel spacers needed?

The Currie tie rod I just had put on did rub. Wasn't supposed to, but it did. Easy to tell. You'll "feel" / hear it. Or just look at the inner lip of the wheel after full lock turning. It will be obvious and it will happen quickly. I personally don't like spacers - and that little...
  6. E Z up for a awning

That would have kept it on the ground. But probably would have torched my paint job.....
  7. E Z up for a awning

I have vivid memories of my last easy up. I remember it flying thru the sky 50 feet over our heads after being hit by a serious wind gust out on El Mirage dry lakebed. LOL. I've avoided them since, but I'm guessing a 270 awning would have been hopelessly mangled as well.
  8. Moab in July

I've been in Moab in mid-late April and thought I was going to die - even with snow on the La Sal's. Deep in those canyons, the heat index goes up dramatically. 100 in town feels like 110-115 in the redrock canyons. No way would I voluntarily schedule a Moab trip in July.
  9. Has anyone installed the “NEW” Mopar lift kit with Bilstein shocks?

Nope. After talking with my local dealer, then doing the research, I went elsewhere for my lift needs. BTW, I ended up with 35x11.50R17's as well.
  10. Wondering how the Mopar Performance 2" Lift Kit 3.0L With Bilstein Shocks is a good option for a daily?

No disrespect to those who love their Mopar 2" lifts, but after talking with the local dealer's service advisor and him not even knowing $#!@ about their product - even though he has a Gladiator with it installed - and it's shortcomings as compared to full featured lifts, I passed. Life is too...
  11. Diodes for charging dual battery banks

Waaaaay back in the 70's my dad (his birthday today ironically) created devices that separated battery banks just as needed - he made them primarily for motor homes, campers, camper/boats, etc.. It was called a Divi-Charge, and yes - Diode based. Not sure what ever happened to the company, but...
  12. Question on rake

    1. Not all lifts are created equal. Some are full featured and keep your steering and geometry where they should be - and others - like the Mopar or teraflex spacer pucks - do not. Your best bet it to get it into a reputable 4x4 shop and let them tell you what you got, and the best way to get...
  13. 37x11.5 on Mojave Daily Driver

I'd suggest checking with the LIFT manufacturer. My Clayton 2.5 overland suggested minimum 5.75 backspacing. I was going with a 35x11.50R17, and decided to roll the dice with the stock wheels. Passenger side cleared fine. Driver side WHEEL (not tire) rubbed on the new tie rod. Had to buy...
  14. What's your local dealership's hourly rate?

$190 to $200 here. $190 for the local 4x4 shop and $200 for the dealer. Getting pretty dam expensive. And honestly, the dealerships work is only so so. The local 4x4 shop is good, but you still need to keep an eye open....
  15. Clayton Off Road JT Suspension Systems

Clayton lifts lift the front more than the back. They are designed that way. How MUCH more depends on how much weight you have up front (steel bumper, winch, lights, etc..) My 2.5" overland + netted about 4.5-ish inches up front and 3.5-ish inches on the rear. That's with adding 35's which...
  16. Looking to lift my gladiator sport s

Lifts are a rabbit hole that gets very deep VERY quickly. It boils down to looks vs. drivability and performance. Looks? Buy spacers and just deal with your jeep not steering and performing as good as it should. Performance / Driveability? Prepare to get your wallet out and dig deep. Even...
  17. In The Middle Of The Night.....

How are you changing for tire sizes? Dealer flashing your computer or ?? Seems to be luck of the draw on going thru the washer. Some seem to be OK, and others are FUBAR.
  18. Looking for new 35 tires for my new gladiator

Toyo Open Country ATIII's - 35x11.5R17. Method 703's. Not too many miles yet, but so far I'm liking the Toyo's.
  19. In The Middle Of The Night.....

I bought it new, but thanks for the thought. Anyone had any issues with their Tazer Mini?
