Yeah, it can open to the cab...but can't stay that way while driving which is what I was trying to describe. Which limits use of the bed somewhat.
Other than that, I am still glad I got it over the soft cover.
I only briefly looked under the front part to see what was involved to remove...
I love mine as well.
Only thing I do not like about it is its not easily removable and you can only use 2/3 of the bed. No way to secure it completely open. I have seen some 3rd party ones that have struts, etc.
I have to agree. I always wanted half doors because on previous models they were "lower" and gave much more open feeling with the upper removed.
However, with these....if you look at side by side picture with current hard doors...there really is not much difference. I suppose the is more...
I have been waiting for actual half doors.
Yeah price will be crazy...actually higher than I had expected. Will be tough choice.
And then there is the issue of color matching/blending.
If it had been an option when I ordered mine, I probably would have done it...and bypassed a few other...
I am planning oil chang every 5k....so not really all the concerned over what the "life" meter says. Was just curious cause if it is more than just a mileage counter/percentage then something about how/where I drive is effecting it. I drive everyday to work...~12 miles one way. ...in Florida...
I am still holding out for actual real half doors w/uppers that work.....but I think i will be long gone if/when Jeep decides to bring them back. :(
I had tube doors on my JK and maybe used them twice....just didn't see the point....doorless with mirrors was essentially the same thing but...
What exactly does "oil life" mean? How is it calculated. I did my first oil change in May @~5000 oil life was around 40%. I just turned 10k and oil life is showing 32%....getting ready to do my 2nd oil change.
Just curious what goes into the calculation for oil life.
I use remote start all the time here in Florida. Guess could explain my MPG numbers....but I don't care....im still averaging 8mpg more than I did with my JK=P I rather have a comfortable interior when I get in.
Also have ESS permanently disabled. The constant on/off/on/off/on/off during...
My one way commute to work is ~13miles. Barring any accidents, etc about 10 miles of that is at most two short lights or stops @35-50mph. The last 3 miles is the killer constant stop and go...at least 5 lights, maybe 20mph, yada yada.
Reset my trip and one week of going to and from work im...
My JTR is 7mo old and with the exception of Sunrider still stock.
This is the longest ive gone stock with a new Jeep.....I am sure to fall off the wagon any day now. Trying to stay clean at least until stock tires need replacing.
LOL that was clear as mud =P
Just about all of my "what i consider highway driving" is interstate...at which point all fuel efficiency goes out the window.
