  1. Falcon or Fox?

I think you may be right. The pre-SP2 models were notoriously stiff, which is why Falcon introduced the 2-mode SP2 from what I understand. The shop that did my lift had not used Falcons for a while because of the stiffness of earlier versions, and were surprised at the mode adjustment of the SP2...
  2. Falcon or Fox?

I went with the Falcon 3.3 with my lift. The SP2 can be set up in either soft or performance mode during install by rotating the shaft in one direction or the other. I initially went with performance but found it to be too stiff, even when dialled down to 2.1 on the road. Reset them to soft mode...
  3. Front License Plate Mounting Ideas... what do you think?

They are 7ā€ from an Aussie company called Stedi. Great quality and amazing output and beam spread for the price. Quality wiring harness too. Not sure if they ship overseas, but worth a look. https://www.stedi.com.au/7-type-xtm-sport.html
  4. Wheels Australia Tests Jeep Gladiator against 10 other Utes.

Congrats on your Jeep GR! Maybe Iā€˜ve been lucky, but my local Jeep dealer has been great (sales, parts and service). I’ve been dealing with them for over 7 years and 2 Jeeps (Brisbane northside) and theyā€˜ve always been friendly, helpful and competent. Always get a free loaner when I get a...
  5. Wheels Australia Tests Jeep Gladiator against 10 other Utes.

Pretty much. Taxes and ā€œstamp dutiesā€ here are boggling, and purely money for jam to the governments (state and federal). With the 2021 model they upped the GVMR so that it now fits into the ā€œcommercial vehicleā€ category so the lux tax doesn’t apply. Too late for me, but wouldn’t have been able...
  6. Front License Plate Mounting Ideas... what do you think?

In Australia we have to display front plates as well, and with the winch fairlead and Factor 55 hook there was no option to put a flip bracket to cover the hook. To solve it I got a fairlead flip bracket off eBay and flipped the plate mount upside down and mounted my plate (slimline, which is...
  7. Pretension on Flat Surface

Yep, parking brake lightly set works, or get a friend to sit in the cab and apply just a bit of brake pressure. ?

  9. Gladiator Glamour Shots

A couple of shots prior to full lift going on. This is an Australian spec Rubicon, so a few differences from the US spec rigs… can you spot them? ?
  10. Falcon 3.3 vs Bilstein 8100

They are the B8 8100 remote res shocks. https://cart.bilsteinus.com/details?id=5355711146544018383&fyv=true&Year=4016897910049358191&Make=2008850656034331255&Model=6638806998663276032&Submodel=6913999818685629958&Pos=Front%20Left I don’t think that they’re a true bypass shock. I’m thinking the...
  11. Falcon 3.3 vs Bilstein 8100

Thanks, that’s the exact feedback I’m looking for. Do you have yours set on the soft or performance mode? I’ve read that performance is pretty stiff, but I’m in a hot climate so it might be softer than someone running them in a colder climate. Interested to hear what mode you use and if you’ve...
  12. Falcon 3.3 vs Bilstein 8100

Ok, so I’m looking at shock options for a 2.5ā€ lift on my 2020 Rubicon. I’m in Australia, so local options are limited, but I’ve now got a choice between a set of Bilstein 8100 and Falcon 3.3. The Falcons are about $1000 less (prices are crazy over here) and I’m very tempted by the...
  13. Height increase with Rhino-Rack backbone & pioneer platform? (measurement please)

Hey Dan. It adds just over 9 cm to the overall height with the shorter RCL legs. The pic you have in your post looks like the RLT600 quick release legs which are a bit higher. Not sure by how much though mate. Which leg option are you going with? Cheers, Ian
  14. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

In their infinite wisdom, Jeep Australia decided the best place to mount the steering stabiliser is down below the tie rod in front of the axle. Just brilliant. As expected, mine met Mr Rock in a water crossing and came off second best. So, took it to my local Jeep specialist to have a flip kit...
  15. Rubicon fender flare extension?

I’m looking at the BL Armory in the same spec for my Gladiator. One local owner has gone with the Arsenal 8ā€ +30 offset and it looks like it works well (I think these are 35ā€ x 12.5ā€ tires). Off topic, I’m an expat Canadian from Vancouver Island! Good to see some Canadian content here! ?
  16. Rubicon fender flare extension?

DBOR also have 2.5ā€ flares that work with the max tow fenders. All the Rubicon Gladiators in Australia come with the US max tow spec fenders. https://doubleblackoffroad.com/collections/jt-gladiator/products/dbor-2-5-au-fender-extensions-for-jt-gladiator
  17. Is anyone running 17" x 8" Black Rhinos? *Armory if possible*

I’ve asked the same question on a couple of Facebook groups and have come up with nothing so far. ?ā€ā™‚ļø I may just bite the bullet and get them anyway. Should keep the tires under the stock fenders and give a bit more width for my 305/70r17 Maxxis Razrs to reduce sidewall bulge.
  18. GATOR Gladiator JT Club

G’day from Queensland Australia! Have about 3,000km on my Gator so far, with a Teraflex 1.5ā€ levelling kit and Daystar 3/4ā€ rear spacers. Went for Maxxis RAZR 305/70r17 tires and couldn’t be happier with them. Quiet on the highway for a muddie, and awesome grip on the trails and rocks. Loving...
  19. Jeeps Parking Next To Jeeps

Here’s a few Gladiator Rubicon’s gathering in Queensland Australia. No Sports available down here, just Rubicon and Overland spec! :like: Cheers, Ian 2020 Gladiator Rubicon, Gator, 34ā€ Maxxis Razrs, Teraflex 1.5ā€ levelling kit
