If you look at my photos you can see that really only a small part of the brackets are really visible with the doors on. With the doors off you can probably see a bit more, but the roll cage already has black plastic stuff around it so it blends fine.
The roomerangs don't really need to be hit...
Overall I am quite pleased with mine. It has been either hot or rainy here so I've kept my top up and the doors on. I pull the back window when it's not raining (takes 2 mins to pull, reinstalls in 4-5) and just roll the windows down. My only recurring issue is that I keep forgetting to make...
Here are some vids they have showing it done. Obviously they aren’t zoomed into the details because they want to protect their patent (I assume) but it shows the process in general.
It has a belt rail along the entire side just like the rear window. Pretty much every Jeep I’ve owned had that so I assumed it was common knowledge to Jeepers. Sorry for that assumption.
The belt rail is easy to do unless the top is cold. Then it can be a bear. Letting it sit in the sun helps...
My wife is 5’4” and my rig is stock for now. There is no way she WOULD do it, but she could if she wanted to. I’m 5’10” and found it easier to fold the seats up and stand in the back seat to roll it up.
I did. I put a thin strip down the front edge since it seems the Velcro doesn’t fully engage with the other patch when wrapped around. Just figured some additional holding power would be a good idea.
I monkeyed with which way to put the Roomerang and felt that under the upper channel made the...
Here are a few pics I took during the process.
If you have the 8.4” audio the top won’t clear it. That’s ok. Just a note.
The header bar is a serious piece of metal and it makes it obvious why the top doesn’t fully remove very easily. I don’t really understand why they don’t use cam buckles...
Yeah, a helper to hold the camera would be helpful. I forgot about modifying the orientation in the app. I might work on that some more.
I would guess you can remove the whole thing in 15-20 mins with an impact driver. It’s honestly just 7 bolts down each side, and you could probably leave the...
I'm planning to make a video review later tonight to share. Have just been busy with kids this week.
You really cannot install the hard top without removing everything. About the only thing that can remain is the velcro on the back wall.
There is a plastic rib that slides up under the...
I do think you're right to a degree. Although some of the issues could be due to 1st generation of this top. The overall product seems reasonably well thought out, but a bit overly complex. at the moment. The simplicity of the factory top is the result of a significant R&D budget and the...
I went ahead and finished the install tonight after everyone went to bed. It was dark and my garage is full of other crap so I did it outside and don’t have great pics at the moment. But I will share my initial thoughts based on nothing more than putting it together.
The rear curtain, rear...
I got about 1/3 through the install before it got too dark and I needed to pay attention to the kids. I also had to haul them to/from events so that interrupted my progress a bit.
So far it seems ok. Missing a couple of minor hardware parts because the hardware was just loose in the box, but...
I am one of the 9 (according to the email from Ryan) in the US that are receiving the top this week. I asked Ryan yesterday about the import fee and he told me they would handle it. This morning I checked status and found the payment was made and it was out for delivery. So far, everything...
I finally got to use the racks this weekend. I summary, it sucks. ?
The primary issue is that the aluminum rails from the X4 cover aren’t firmly attached to the bed rails. With the leverage created by being 22’’ over the rails the whole assembly wiggles too much.
I could put a bunch more...
