Yeah, you'll take zero hit on resale. And if you're so worried, you can buy a new kick panel. Or use 3m tape to fasten it.
Or you can be obstinate and not tow with your $60k vehicle while you wait for the pretty one. In the mean time, the rest of us will go ahead and use ours with a $150...
We went to stony creek, it was a nice place with both a pool and a lake with a beach and camped in the upper area which was a lot less crowded than the lower area - but also made bringing the bikes a waste as there was a big hill between the upper area and the lower area, so we either took the...
Airstream is a '67 Overlander which is around 4200lbs dry, probably 5000lbs loaded for camping. We had around 350lbs worth of passengers, maybe 150lbs worth of bikes in the back with ~500lbs tongue weight, so right around 1000lbs of payload, leaving only about 160lbs left (it adds up fast!)...

Then reach up under your dash on the drivers side, plug it in and go. It's not rocket science. Hell, it's not even grade school math. If you can't...
Yup, I looked at these when I went to REI as they stock them, I think they'll work. I ended up just strapping them to the cleats once I figured out how to move them (thanks @vsoin). I just put one cleat on the front rail and use that and the two loops on either side of the bottom of the bed...
I put mine in manual mode when towing so I can control downshifts. In normal driving it doesn't hunt and honestly it's so quiet and smooth I can hardly tell when it shifts unless I look at the tach.
After driving the 8 speed 3.6 combo, the JL/JT was the first vehicle I didn't even consider a manual in. There's zero point to it anymore, it's weaker, tows less, has worse acceleration, worse fuel mileage and is worse off road. I get that they're fun to drive, but I have a manual sports car...
The Rubicon already has a lot of the max tow stuff standard, so the tow package essentially adds what's missing (HD engine cooling, hitch and 240amp alternator). It already has the wider d44 axles with 4.10s and larger brakes. Tow rating and payload are down slightly due to increased weight and...
So what's an extra $200 to have them throw a brake controller on it? Most boats have surge brakes and don't need a controller, that's why they're optional even on full sized half ton trucks. My chevy Silverado with tow package wasn't available with one either, but came with the pig tail to plug...
They're the same, I took the winch and mount off of my jlur and installed it on my jtr, both had the steel front bumper and both are identical. I think the only difference in front of the rear doors are the grill trim pieces, which are wider on the gladiator to increase cooling. Rear doors are...
You're honestly not missing much, the bld works pretty well if you get in a sticky situation.
You guys almost have me convinced I should have gotten a sport s with max tow and a few other options instead of the loaded Rubicon I have now... Some good tires and a winch and I'd have saved $10k...
Disagree it's niche, the JT starts at $33k. That's not expensive for a new vehicle and costs $2k less than a bare bones ram tradesman 4x4, which is about as cheap as full sized trucks get.
Yeah, a loaded out Rubicon is $60k, but that's not exactly required or comparable to a bare bones full size.
Installing a brake controller is plug and play, there's a plug for it under the dash pre wired to the 7 pin plug. You can install it in 5 minutes and the jeep parts department should have it. I ordered the plug on amazon for $15 and installed a brake controller I already had. I don't see why...
