No doubt it would "look" cleaner. But you have to ask yourself why the rest of the world uses high-mount snorkels???
I sent an email to AEV. Seems to me they offered a snorkel on their 392 Hemi swap some years ago.
Who knows??
Is it even possible for you folks to vote all the riff-raft out of office, get rid of 90% of the state agencies and get back to "Normal?"
I tell ya, the rest of the nation looks westward and just shakes their head. It's shameful that happened to such a beautiful state!
I'm in the early stages of a Hemi swap in my JT. The truck is in the shop along with a pile of parts the size of a VW Beetle. At this point, I opted for the complete hydro-guide setup. I think that is a pretty good option since it has been factory-sorted and uses OEM parts.
Having said that...
That video was truly excellent, although a bit too technical for us non-engineers.
I would describe myself as a junior enthusiast with respect to lubricants and fuel chemistry. There is just so much hype and BS out there because at the end of the day, companies want to sell their product.
From...
It looks like I may be waiting a bit to get this swap complete. Yesterday, I was told it will likely be a couple more weeks before they begin.
Not totally pleased but also not disappointed.
I learned a long time ago that things of great value are worth waiting for.
For the moment, no. I am knee deep in this motor and now gear ratio swap. Interestingly, my front axle is set up a lot like yours. The D60 semi-float might be interesting...
Now I just happen to own a very low-mileage Pentastar and transmission. Come to think of it, if I don't return the...
I know what you mean about keeping the truck. After you paid a few $10K and have invested a ton of sweat equity, you no longer wish to trade up for the newest thing.
So what would I get with a new Gladiator? Well, higher cost to begin with. I'll need to redo everything I have done so far, which...
Well, I certainly admire what you did with your AEV, a "lead the fleet" vehicle for sure! Along with owning it came experience, and that is experience I cannot discount.
It will not happen just yet, mostly because of cost, but regarding the subject of axles, I had been considering something. I...
What is the RPM at 80mph?
My Jeep is an AEV JT370. It came stock with 4.56! But I felt it was a sled, so I went with the recommended 5.13. That sort of worked in the same way as putting lipstick on a pig. In the end, you still have a pig.
I placed those 4.56 gears on marketplace where they...
I'll broach the subject with the builder at the shop. Personally, I've used hydro-braking systems on other builds, even a Tundra on which I installed a SAS.
After my last trip down Corkscrew Pass in Colorado, my brakes were hot. Actually boiling the fluid, and stunk! I upgraded to a better brake...
Let me toss this out there:
Regarding gear ratio... I currently have 5.13
If I was turning the JT into a tow truck, I'd be there
I think I am going to stay in the 37"-39" tire size, so a change to either 4.88 or 4.56 is pending. If I were to have any chance at all of getting any decent fuel...
I think part of the magic that makes the big Hemi work is it's higher compression ratio. We saw the lower CR in the earlier Hemi with a lot less power. I think it is what it is.
Currently, several dollars less per gallon for gas in KY. Personally, I'm good with fuel at any cost. Jeep is not my...
