FYI, I was able to stuff a 3-row radiator into the cooling stack WITH the supercharger. You'll have to go backward on my build thread to the supercharging section to reference. But it fit and worked.
The RodRecket build was one of my favorites. Seems we just can't leave well enough alone!
I think their website may need updating, but I'm guessing they want to get a couple of their kits installed and running first...
I sent a message to the owner to give me a call to discuss what I can let folks know reference pricing. I hope to have some information PDQ.
Update on my conversation with RIPP Superchargers.
Chris, the sales manager, has been great every single time I have dealt with him. He is very likely one of the keys to their success.
He spoke with the owner, who also remembered the first turn of events. They offered to allow me to return the...
It was funny, actually. A fellow aviator who you'd expect would be a bit more informed/worldly. No vehicle inspections. Swap any motor into anything. Put a 454 in your Prius: Go for it.
Oh, and guns everywhere. I joked about that one, you see in Kali, there are guns everywhere as well, all the...
I believe the 5.7 and the 6.4 are the same weight. Someone check me on this...
From what (little) I know, the 5.7s experienced a price surge, while the 6.4s did not. The delta between those engines has narrowed, making it "easier" to just step up to the bigger displacement. There were some other...
That supercharger is almost new. For certain, it has less than 30 minutes of total run time. The folks at Ripp are in disbelief that a second unit is also bad. They are treating me well, and I plan to do a write-up on the whole exchange between them and me. Readers digest version: They are good...
Mike, the owner, discussed preliminary pricing with me, but I shouldn't say anything until I've verified it with him. It is mo-better than what has become the norm. He is uniquely positioned in the business to acquire parts more cheaply than most folks can. I will share more on that later, if he...
I actually have owned a number of supercharged vehicles, including one with a Vortech V3, which is the unit in the video. Nothing I owned has ever sounded like that.
False alarm...In the Army, we called it a "Hurry up and wait," or "Stand by for a standby, there might be a maybe."
They haven't turned any wrenches on the JT yet. They say they are clearing out the workspace and putting all the parts together to start the swap. Needless to say, I did not...
Of course, you will have to contact them for your pricing. I'll ask the owner today, when I stop by, what, if any, promotional price he might offer folks ready to move on the swap. The list price was very different than what I am paying, but then again, I am a bit of a test run...
It is by far...
Concur...
There seems to be several ways to skin this cat. ECM on the driver's side, or on the passenger's side. With the stock PS or with the engine-driven pump. And this swap I am getting into at the moment seems to be somewhat of a hybrid design. (Best of all worlds???).
I'm happy that:
1. I...
copy that
I opted for the Hydro guide hood setup just because of all the engineering. I very much like the Rubicon hood, but since I need a new one, well might as well just make the jump.
Move to Kentucky! You'll feel like you moved to a foreign (better) country!
Caveat: Leave all that Kali-thinking behind. I've witnessed firsthand a Native California person moving here. They just don't understand that they don't have to ask permission for everything they want to do.
I was...
What are you thinking of doing? The 5.7 in his style, or a 6.4?
I do not like the intake-piping strategy for the JSS 5.7 swap. Right angles... no bueno unless uber-smooth, which that setup is not.
I decided that if I went with his setup, I'd use the 6.4 car manifold and go with Mopar parts to...
Thanks for the input genemens! I had this nagging feeling while installing it that it should be black. I was proud of it being lightweight aluminum.
On another note, the full write-up for the Hemi swap will happen here...
My wife would strongly agree with you!
That, and my tow vehicle is rocking that blacked out theme, so they would match.
Oh, and folks, since this thread is pretty large, I'll do a reader's digest of the Hemi swap here and do a detailed posting on another thread I created over in the "Swaps"...
I have a busy build thread located here where you can track the progress that got me to this point:

I tried adding a supercharger, but after bolting on two separate Vortech units, I am...
