  1. Oil Change Intervals

My rule of thumb is to always change oil for towing around 1/2 of manufacturer recommendation. They recommend 10,000 with minimal towing. I don't know, but I've owned several diesel towing vehicles in the past, and always changed the oil 2-3 times recommendation. That diesel fuel and the burned...
  2. North Carolina Premium JT Soft Top NIB

Is this the Mopar Premium Soft Top?
  3. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Didn't get pics, but today included all below with soft top down: - Washing the gladiator - Early drive to a country fair (30 miles away) - Hooked up the 4X8 trailer and went to pick up large item from Home Depot - Stopped at large farm stand and brought home a lot in bed - Now loading my hitch...
  4. Am I trying to pull too much?

Yes. There are plenty of single axle trailers out there that should fit your needs. Some are pretty nice. It's a matter of beds and luxury vs weight. I get it. The scenario you described should be ok. Just take it easy on take offs, cruising, and braking.
  5. Am I trying to pull too much?

My take - I treat towing conservatively. Here's why - I tow travel trailers, fifth wheelers, vehicle trailers, boats, and work trailers. I used to work for GM (engineer and industrial designer). I've never had a problem with overloading, rear suspension sag, broken shocks, braking, powering...
  6. Bestop Sunrider fabric differences

My take - Had several of the cheaper ones and now on my second premium twill. I feel the twill is worth every penny for several major reasons. The durability is far superior - takes weather, heavy periods of sun, hits, tree limbs, debris, water, hail, heavy downpours, and open/closed cycles...
  7. Mounting running boards: Anyone run into this?

I mounted mine a few months ago without a problem. I suggest: 1. Call MOPAR to see what you can learn about this bracket. They sell a ton of running boards for these vehicles. Just to find out what this could be and whether their boards accommodate such a protrusion. MOPAR also has videos...

  10. Simple and Basic Add-Ons That Sweeten The Experience

Many of us end up at a Jeep dealer and take home one of these highly versatile toys. Many want to know where to start with customizing without spending tens of thousands of dollars, but they're not yet ready for overlanding, mud slinging, or rock-hopping. I bought my Gladiator new with quite a...
  11. Gladiator Tent

REI sells an excellent truck bed tent that is durable, weatherproof, and comfortable. fits right in the bed. Suggest you check it out.
  12. Soft top and car washes with brushes - any damage?

I choose to never use a car wash with my Gladiator at all. 1. Twill (Mopar Premium) soft top and the regular vinyl soft top do not like soap or hot water. It pulls out the water resistant treatments within the fabric, and it destroys the dyes used to color them. 2. It also wears down the...
  13. God I love my gladiator

If you have the regular towing package, I'd keep the towed vehicle down to single axle units that are 3000-4000 lbs. There are a lot of campers that are single axle and fit in this weight category. I used to have a 27', dual axle, electric brakes, 6300# (not loaded and no fluids), every option...
  14. Brand New Gladiator will not power up

Your batteries are not providing power to start-up. Go back and disconnect the added wiring you added to the fuse box and when you replace the negative connection again, make sure post is making good contact with post clamp. Make sure it's tight enough too. If it still does not work, you need...
  15. STATE FARM WILL NOT INSURE MY GLADIATOR1

Insurance companies MUST provide reasons for rate increases and for cancelling. If your request the reason and they refuse to provide it, you need to file a complaint with your State's Attorney General's Office and with the Better Business Bureau. Insurance companies also rely heavily on YELP...
  16. STATE FARM WILL NOT INSURE MY GLADIATOR1

I found the Gladiator auto insurance to be lower than most regular boring sedans. Even though pickup trucks are overall more expensive to buy, pickups are in less accidents, sustain less damage, and there are typically less frivolous pickup claims. I suspect another reason due to family ages or...
  17. To Gladiator or not to Gladiator

I think you need to switch priorities for this period in your life. This is all temporary and will pass. Trade in the gladiator for a 35-45 mpg vehicle with 3 row seating. Get through this phase of life for 3-4 years, then determine if a gladiator might make sense once again. Otherwise, stay the...
  18. Premium Soft Top Help

At this time of year soft tops are hard to come by. I bought the dual top package when I bought my 2022 in Jan 2023. I took off the hard top and installed the premium soft top 4 weeks ago. The premium (twill) top is very well designed, great material, and is a quick snap to open and close. Due...
