I'd like to run a RTT over the cab of the truck. Don't want to put a rack over the softopper on the bed and lose the ability to carry some of the taller items we like to take with us, and or, pick up on the road.

If you have the trail rail system, the front window needs to be secured with velco in order to stay in place. Its not absolutely neccessary, but the front has a tendency to flip up if its not secured. If you dont have the trail rail, snaps are provided to secure it to the bed i believe.

apparently theres a kit to access the bed from the cab window. I have a feeling its just a template used to cut a hole, which im not sure would preserve the water tightness
Had mine for a year and still love it. You can purchase a tinted rear window from the factory. Only thing I'm considering changing is getting the cab facing window kit.
