  1. Driving in sand tutorial (Outer Banks, NC)?

25% reduction in air pressure results in 250% increase in surface contact and improved "flotation."
  2. So what did you name your Gladiator?

I'm a little superstitious about naming vehicles. I believe that Jeeps should "earn" their names from your crew. Now, having said that, I've been impatient and keeping a list of potential names for the last year. LOl! However, last wekend, I may have "earned" an appropriate name...CLIFFHANGER!
  3. Sudden MPG increase

I've never been much of a believer in the concept of an engine improving after break-in, but it's the only thing I can think of for this. Mine went from 13.8 for the first 400 miles, to average 15.3 for the next 12,000 miles; but has made a dramatic improvement to 18.2 in the last 2000 miles...
  4. CB radio is dead. Stop installing them and get a VHF/UHF instead!!!

I have a mobile GMRS and my license. But with the affordability and compact size of modern electronics, I've decided to keep both. I love the ability to use more power and repeaters, and the convenience of talking to those folks who only have "bubblepack" combos. I even keep 4 hand-helds in my...
  5. GMRS Use (Rules, Courtesy, Call Sign/Channel Display, Jeep Unique)

I've got my license as well and am going to install my mobile GMRS as soon as I fabricate my overhead panel. This will let us communicate with other GMRS users, as well as those who only have the "bubblepack" FRS/GMRS combos. However, I'm also installing a small CB. I'm old, so I remember the...
  6. CB Radio & CB Antenna installation in my Jeep Gladiator

I've got my entire set-up temporarily installed until I fabricate my overhead panel. This means my radio is squished between my passenger seat and the console, and my power is from a cigarette lighter type plug. My problem is that the power plug is a horribly noisy installation. So my question...
  7. Anyone install rear air bags to help prevent squatting while towing?

Most of us are getting the "High-Beam Flash" regardless of load, due to the nature of the amazing LED headlights. That's why I'm considering the air bags to offset my "Daily Carry." I also know that most of the lift options out there effectively level out the stance, and I suspect that most...
  8. 37 inch spare tire

I will definitely use a strap or some kind of additional insurance after that experience!
  9. Anyone Else Really Like Looking at Your Parked Rig?

Of course I love looking at it, but I wish I had $100 for every other person who stops to gawk or ask questions; I could retire!
  10. 37 inch spare tire

This is a concern of mine. One day I looked under my 3/4 ton pickup to see my spare missing; the cable had failed, and at some point I lost my over-size spare without even realizing it. I hope to hell I didn't kill anybody!
