Understanding subwoofers and their limitations I am still impressed with how well this thing does its job, especially considering how little commitment to space and installation is required. It won't scrape the bottom, but it thumps away solidly in its wheelhouse frequency range, while managing...
I had the stock audio system with the 5" radio. I replaced the radio with a 7" Alpine w android auto/car play. I also swapped out the dash and roll bar speakers with Kicker speakers and added the sub. It's not anything crazy, but just what the truck needed. Now my wife wants to take it more often.
Only thing I really wish this unit had is the ability to download any apps like the Insane Audio. I would love to install the DJI Fly app for my drone and see if I could plug the controller into the media hub and use the head unit's screen for the flight display instead of my phone. I think that...
With tempered expectations I put one behind my back seat this afternoon and I gotta say, that little box has no business hitting as hard as it does. Bravo.
This is also true. I found limited options for one-and-done solutions that integrate this well, granted I don't keep up with this stuff like I used to.
Less conspicuous, mostly. I've bought lots of Alpine stuff over the years and generally had good luck with it, frankly I have no idea who the other guys are.
I'm doing something similar, just ordered the HS10 and have some pods with kicker 6.5 for the soundbar coming tomorrow. I swapped the 3.5 in the dash for the dart kickers as well. Next will be knee panel speakers and a small 4 channel amp if I think it needs it. I already replaced the stereo...
I would probably wait until I could get the rest of the package and do it all at once. It looks very tastefully integrated while covering all the major upgrades one might make. I'd be so stoked if I won those speakers like you did lol.
For what it's worth, I have the 7" version of this kit, which was $1k less. I simply wanted an upgrade from the 5" stock unit for on screen navigation, that didnt mess with any factory controls or backup cam etc. I wasnt interested in the larger screens and wanted something more subtle. The kit...
Fyi- Alpine sells this head unit in a complete kit now that has the Gladiator maestro module, wire harness, back up camera adapter module, dash trim and a new media hub with 2X usb and 1X hdmi. I put it in last night and everything worked on startup. Steering wheel controls, usb ports, back up...
I have the i407-wra-JL coming tomorrow to replace my 5" uconnect. I almost pulled trigger on the Stinger, but at the end of the day I wanted something a little less conspicuous than a 9 or 10 inch while still having a lot of the smart features.
I had an appointment to have my local dealer do it, but they said Chrysler was making them sign me up for a 2 month service plan for $125 before they could do the work. Smelled funny so I passed. Any truth to this?
You absolutely should. I'll tell you anything you want to know about the area. It's beautiful and will always be my home. I grew up in Lovell, moved back after I got married and raised my own family there, and currently reside in neighboring Fryeburg to be closer to the Academy for my kids. My...
