If it's to answer why I do it, one would only have to read back a few pages and notice the questions I post to understand why I look for data from a lab report and/or I'm seeking solid answers from someone that self promotes his long wrenching experience but hasn't answered them but gets upset...
Letās assume it got hot or even burnt, a lab test would provide data to show āsomethingā not right. (I know you missed this chance to know) Would have even provided level of oxidation if asked for which non of us have this data yet. Maybe the smell is an indicator of that. But the question now...
I remember back around transmission #2 or #3, I drove to the dealership to bring to their attention a whine I was hearing and the shop Forman said, weāll bring that right in and check the levels for you! (Transmission temp was at 198F) How would they have checked level was correct? ā¦anyway, a...
That would have been too hot for my liking. I would have level checked and capped off at 90F. At 130F youāre already outside the top end of the temp window.
You got hurt. You may not have felt it right away but you will. Donāt sign anything. Your insurance company will fight for you and get whatās fair for you and will discuss whatās being negotiated. You should have massage and chiropractor visits in your insurance plan. Soft tissue damage is a...
The āload of crapā as @DanW has said and Iāve also said, and will agree to his wording, is what the lab would report as being in suspension. The labs wear numbers arenāt telling you whatās sitting on the bottom of the pan, those numbers measured in ppm is the wear metals (load of crap) that āin...
Did you keep the factory exhaust and can put it back on? Pain in the ass but part of the questionnaire the tech has to fill out, for warranty, is to answer FCAās question as to if its stock or modified. I think thatās the first question. Thereās several other questions that follow but some will...
Can you imagine if all the other hose ends under our hood were made the same way?! But there is a lot of plastic to fail.. At least the engineers have also secured our potential need to replace those too at some point.
I looked for an aftermarket coolant tank to replace the plastic one and that...
You canāt escape connectors that have pins. It isnāt just the fuse box removal. Removing the doors or doing some connector maintenance and cleaning on the TCM, FAD, ECM, PCM etc etc to the other dozen or so connectors with pinsā¦if you take them apart, spray an electrical cleaner/pin lubricant...
I think Iām seeing the same thing as you. I believe that if the temps were at the over heating stage and the bar/needle went past the centre, the colour would switch from orange to red. For me, if Iām not seeing red, sheās happy.
This pic was right after I got my second engine installed with...
I can still make out the whine in 4th gear but there are many times now, I donāt hear it. Itās taken 4 drops to significantly quieten. Temps have dropped after the 3rd pan drop and then Iāve seen two further temp drops after the 4th pan drop. Not sure if temp drop and whine go hand in hand but...
Looks like when it shifts from 8th to 4th in your video and the whine is heard.
If itās transmission whine. Iāve had the ā4th gear whineā and had also brought it in, was confirmed and FCA engineers said 4th gear whine is normal.
So Iāve lived with it, and have done 4 pan drops already on this...
