I've bought several vehicles out of state. Make sure the dealer knows which state you're from, and how your state handle sales tax, if at all. With enough persuasion, which shouldn't be much, the dealer will calculate taxes, if applicable, correctly for you.
In other vehicles, I've had something similar to the hammock, but that didn't work. Did I mention Siberian Husky? Fur gets everywhere. Every. Where.
Oh, and without the tether, my male, Loki, goes back and forth between the front and back seats. Very annoying, so we have to tether him.
When the Gladiator came out, we stopped at a local stealership to take a look at one. The way it was parked, on a hill, the ass end was up in the air. At that angle, the bed looked totally useless, so I didn't bother looking any further. Ended up buying a '19 RAM crew cab.

Had a '19 RAM 1500 Crew Cab with the 5.7. Wasn't the high-end trim level, but it had heated seats. Was a great riding truck. Comfortable on the road on long trips, and the 5.7 had plenty of power. Gas mileage was very decent as well.
However, the Gladiator caught my eye at the dealership...
