It’s not even a matter of paying for the harness to shut off ESS, although that is a bother absolutely. It is adding something else to go wrong. So is the Auto Park. In a vehicle supposedly designed to be many miles off road on overland adventures, having more things to go wrong is not a plus.
Line up next to a stock-geared vehicle with huge tires at a light, and floor it. Tire size envy cure. Not that a Jeep should be a race car or dueling from "the line" but there is a limit to patience as well for acceleration. YMMV.
Yeah having a Chrysler rental car slam on brakes on my behalf due to a dip in the road was one of the scariest driving experiences of my life. All auto-driving technology should be banned before we have to walk through the obvious upcoming failures and resultant deaths. More chips, more...
I disabled warning beep in my JK. I also use seatbelts everywhere outside of my neighborhood. Respect the belts, but don't need a reminder beep thank you.
If we could eliminate all the unnecessary nanny-state tech in current era vehicles maybe a mid-size jeep truck wouldn't have a $60k sticker...
If you are going to lift it right away it seems silly to pay for Rubicon suspension. If not, maybe you like the package FCA assembled. Me, I’d go Sport S all day long, lift it, maybe a rear locker and manual front disco’s, max of 35” tires on the 4.10 ratio for all-around use. With that...
I had a 1993 YJ that had floor puddles every time it rained. Went bat sh!t crazy trying to fix, but sold it off for a truck when kids came. My son’s 2005 T.J., no prob with stock hardtop and Bestop soft. My 2012 Jk, no prob with dual top. I did have a couple drops come in on passenger side my...
I went from an F-150 to a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, now preoccupied with a possible Gladiator. I don’t miss parking the F-150, and it didn’t fit in my garage. Gladiator is like a halfway point between my last two vehicles.
My lifted Wrangler is much higher to step into than my old(stock) F-150...
Looking at gearing closely also and comparing to my current JKUR with 4.10’s. With 315/70r17 KO2’s, it struggles to stay in 5th gear at highway speeds (75mph) which is .83 ratio.
7th gear on JT is .84 ratio so almost same. Same engine basically. So those of you with 37’s on JT with 410’s it may...
What I would do is peel all the clear tape off both sides and rub with alcohol to eliminate goo. Drive the truck. When the body-color flares eventually chip, replace them with black ones.
I bought a “first gen” of the 3.6 engine in the JK in 2012. Still driving it at 78k miles, no issues other than one rear axle oil leak fixed under the 5/50 powertrain warranty.
One thing that looks to be newly engineered are the soft/hard top combos available for Gladiator. Derivative maybe...
No regrets on Baja Squadron Pro’s here on my JK. Like the consumer serviceability, I swapped my lense style to just what I wanted. Love running them with the amber rock guards to protect them most of the time while still having bright usable light if I flip them on, then can still pull the...
Been browsing this site and jeep.com looking at Gladiators, sat in them a few times. Today finally, I had my first test drive, and found out the engine shuts off at every light. And it can't be permanently disabled in a supported manner. Major disappointment, FCA.
Very surprised to see...
My JK did that. It either stopped doing it, or I don't notice it anymore... maybe a little of both. I seem to recall working it back and forth a bit with my hands to loosen it up when new, and also push it down so the slack sags down instead of pushing towared your leg. Being brand new, it...
Ironic that profits from Jeeps are being used to fund electric and self-driving car research. Neither of which I personally ever want. In fact I would pay money to a lobbying group to legislate a proactive ban on self-driving vehicles on all roads in the US. That would free up FCA R&D money to...
I carry this on my lifted JK but not had to use it with the stock scissor jack:

Would work fine in the mall parking lot but could fall short on uneven surfaces, where you want something more like a hi-lift jack. My current JCR bumpers have a...
