Thanks, I am researching not doing anything until out of warranty. Unsure of what watts I need, not looking to use any 12 volt accessories, just keep up with the draw when it sits. If I need electric just toss the gen in the bed. Want a permanent mount, hope not even a disconnect when using...
I would think a 4 or 5 watt would handle the parasitic load , but I am not familiar with modern vehicles, and certainly not an electric or electronic tech. Most say they must be disconnected before starting.
Has anyone permanently mounted a solar agm trickle charger? Searched question and didn’t find. Don’t drive mine enough to charge and know I will have problems later. Mounting something like this may keep trouble away without have to plug and unplug. Thought of mounting between grill and bumper...
Relocated 4 years ago. Before that had 3 4x trucks on the road. Had a total of 5 tagged vehicles at one time.
Sold my 02 2500 Cummins, 84 Ranger And a 1961 M 37 Dodge when I moved. A four door is not for me but I compromised. Most expensive vehicle I ever bought and has more luxury than any I...
The safety features on my 22 seem extensive to me. Side lane warnings, forward collision avoidance, rear camera and reverse collision warning.
But my last truck was a 02
X2 on distilled water. Or a good pre-mix that meets specs.
I would guess there are no coolant drains on these engines.
The old stuff I replaced block drain plugs with good petcocks.
150k seems like a lot, but so does 10 K oil changes to an old guy.
I had a line-x in a 2002 2500. Held up well.
In addition to the threaded holes, make sure they don’t fill in the drain holes. Seen that on new ones at the dealership.
I agree with shadows papa.
write down the conditions and symptoms every time it occurs, make sure the tech diagnosing sees it. The only thing I would add is take notice of the gauge readings. Batt volts are very sensitive and can affect a lot of devices in modern vehicles.
Newer truck? I can see a line worker dropping one and just grabbing another, but a close look seems like the lock tight was on threads like it was installed. Anybody work on it ?
They have had strict laws on modifying diesels since late 70s early 80s. I learned this in manufacture’s courses back then relating to semis and dumps.
Don’t have a diesel. Just curious as Cummins had a problem through the second generation, I had it in Dodges. The injector pumps failed due to the transfer pump. Aftermarket transfer pump was better and cures the trouble. Does this diesel have a transfer pump?
Thanks. Would have to be self tapping screws or insert a nut sert , see no way to get a nut on a bolt, or can it be accessed through the stake pocket? I have a hard tonneau.
