Best news I've seen in a long time!
Last night I received an answer from Jeep Chat on when 2023 Gladiator production was going to start, and the answer was: "..end of September/early November". That was a huge disappointment until I saw that a 2023 build was found by the tracking database...
Okay. Any other tricks/techniques you can share with the rest of US? Maybe we can all save a little $$. What brand and model of tires are you running? I bet you inflate on the high side too. I always run 1-2 PSI higher than the door sticker recommendation
Do you ever double check the...
They are supposed to be in production now but I haven't seen evidence of that yet. But you can order a 2023 right now if you wanted to. 2023 ordering opened ~July 14th. I'm not sure what I'm missing. Why not use the Jeep Build & Price tool? And yes, for certain models the diesel option is...
None of these products can be trusted IMHO. I would need independent lab data to convince me. Or maybe something like Elon Musk hurling a rock at a Gladiator windshield without breaking it :).
I saw a similar product at last Saturday's Jeep Bash but I can't be anything but skeptical that 1 mm of plastic film is going to stop a rock from cracking the glass it is layered on. It has to distribute the energy over a larger footprint so the peak PSI is reduced by factors of 2x or even 10x...
Ok. I was joking (a little) but you can see everyone is skeptical there isn't an error lurking in here somewhere. Did you update the computer settings to indicate the proper tire size? Does the computer think you have 40" tires by mistake? The only other explanation is you lightweighted your...
I contacted Jeep Chat yesterday and they have less information than we can get from our dealers. They can report the status we can get from the Jeep Vehicle Tracking website. I asked them if they could confirm mine is still in D1 status and it turns out they no longer get the codes. I asked...
Last Saturday I went to the Jeep Bash to see what everyone is doing to their Gladiators. I thought I would share the photos I took. I used my super wide angle lens so the oversized tires are going to look very oversized.
It must be cooling. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe with the turbocharged 2.0L has a tow rating of 6,000lbs.
Edit: I just saw that @MrKnowitall made the same point a bit earlier. I do doubt that aerodynamics, as @22EcoDs stated, has much to do with it.
Get an OBDII scan tool and then you can see if any pending codes are set. That should answer a lot of questions. I have a Bluedriver but there are others.
The stock 33" Falkens are one of the heaviest tires in its class. There are a number of 35" tires that weigh only 1 or 2 lbs more than the 33" Falkens. Therefore going to 35's shouldn't be a significant mpg or payload hit for a JTRD. If you're towing near the JTRD limit then 35"s would hurt...
I think this makes a lot of sense. Why keep producing the Ecodiesel, with all of it's emissions & engineering headaches, when you can get the same HP and torque numbers using a PHEV or BEV drivetrain? Just look at the Jeep 4Xe numbers versus the Ecodiesel.
That might be the case. My 2017 Grand Cherokee is having ESS issues so I tested the batteries and they are good and the display is reporting "ESS not ready, Hood is Open" The DTC codes for the hood switches are also reporting a problem. But why would Jeep make the diagnostics information less...
Thanks for posting this. I am considering the TS-rails and the X-15 cover that you have just installed. Please post a picture of the GO Rhino rack after you get them on. The pic you have posted shows them on a T-slot that has a large plate area either side of the slot. The TS Elevate T-slots...
Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't think of that. My Ram 1500 bed is >20" deep and I might miss that depth moving to a Gladiator. I'll have to check the height on my gear.
I forgot to include this one on my short list too. I like the twill fabric look compared to the Bak Revolver. But the Bak Revolver has T slot's included, just in case I ever wanted a bed rack to carry my kayak. I'm waiting on getting my Gladiator first to decide on that need.
You have two of the covers on my short list! The Mopar soft cover doesn't have any side rails, which I though was an elegant design. The Bak Revolver side rails probably intrude more than most others(?). Have they ever gotten in your way? Also, the locking pins look like they're made out of...
