I tend to prefer: a violent expansion in which energy is transmitted outward as a shock wave.
But semantics aside, that first one is pretty much what you see in the movies, which is what we are talking about, lol.
I like it, but I can certainly understand people NOT liking it, especially in...
I dunno about all that. Hollywood of course dramatizes it, but as a former firefighter/fire science major and current worker in the fuels logistics industry, they can and do occasionally explode(often a BLEVE). I was taking a diesel receipt from a tanker a few months ago and the driver was...
New England has a surprising amount of awesome wildlife as well. We have security cameras on our house and we've seen all sorts despite being literally on the border of Springfield. We've had fishers, muskrats, raccoons, deer, a small moose, a huge black bear, turkeys, great blue heron, green...
That's pretty wild. Any idea why they get so close? There was a great Dirty Jobs episode where they were catching water snakes and I laughed my ass off through the whole thing because they just kept biting Mike Rowe.
This little beauty of a garter was in my yard last summer. She actually got...
I was stationed at Luke AFB for 4 years, never saw a single one. I had a pet bark scorpion that I rescued from humans trying to drown it, a pet camel spider I found trapped in a plastic bottle out in the desert. The animals out there are fascinating.
If you are in the US, there are two "dangerous" lizards. The Mexican Beaded and the Gila Monster.

While they should be avoided, please do not kill them or any other lizards you are fortunate...
That is some damn good "smarter not harder" right there. I'm only 40, but my 5'10" 140 lb. healthy weight tiny frame does not like lifting tires. I'm definitely trying this one out next time I take a tire off.
I had just under 100,000 miles on my TJ brake pads before finally needing to do them. If I can get 75k out of the JT, I'll be happy. One of the oft forgotten advantages of driving a manual I suppose.
It's pretty fascinating, even if they aren't alien lifeforms. I'd love to hear more. It's too bad that "Contempt of Congress" doesn't seem to carry much weight these days.
There are other threads on this, but IMO the easiest thing to do is get some strong magnets. Both the bumper and the plate are steel. I did this on my XJ and it worked great for years.
I couldn't get through reading this word salad, but if you want people to work with you on solving issues you don't like, it would go a long way to at least try using capitalization and punctuation. Oh, and not being a dick. That would probably also help.
I'm trying, but for the life of me I just can't understand this gripe. I went from a TJ with manual everything to a JT with proximity locks. I have zero desire to go back. Yeah, the brick is stupid large and tends to switchblade in the pocket, but I usually don't notice until I go to take it...
When I was stationed in AZ for 4 years, one of my fellow airmen who also wasnt from there commented ine day, "I never thought sunshine could he so depressing". True, but damn I do miss it. Though I got the same sunburn on my neck yesterday just from walking for a couple hours.
