Damn I’m glad I ordered back in April, mine just landed at the dealer yesterday
Curious to see if all these shortages and the price we are making steel for make the 22’s jump in price
Just landed this morning, probably won’t be bringing it home till next week as I just started my shifts
Looks like I’ll be tearing the JL apart this weekend in between shifts
Some slight knock is common with the pentastar as it tries to trim the fuel to lean as much as it can. The knock sensors work quite well and will correct it
Trying to squeeze every bit of mpg they can out of it, it runs right along the edge of pre ignition lol
My last few JK’s and JL have all...
Unfortunately with the pentastar’s speed density system it will never see the CAI and trim for it. It doesn’t have that much of a fine tune to the mapping and really the only gain you would see out of the CAI is at WOT which it switches back to open loop at that point
The stock fuel maps it uses...
The throttle body is quite sufficient for the power ranges the pentastar can achieve, the problem is that Chrysler uses a speed density system on the pentastar. Unlike a mass air flow system that measures real time air flow and adjusts fuel trim accordingly, it uses air temperature and manifold...
If you are set on a intake system with a high flow filter and plan to take the Jeep off the pavement I highly recommend a dust boot to cover the filter. It really is alarming how much particulate can get through these filters
Only thing I run hi flows on are the corvettes
A lot of that came from the Chevy community, their stipulation was from running an oiled filter and the excess oil fouling the MAF sensor. They would then deny any engine warranty blaming it on the CAI
Now with that said, unless they can point to it being the cause of failure, much like a lift...
Still waiting on my JT to arrive, but I leave the JL outside stripped down all the time. Only difference is I will park up near the garage because there is a tree out front that constantly rains sap. Wasn’t fun having a sticky steering wheel one morning lol
I imagine steel prices should start reflecting soon as well too. Walk through the gate seen we are selling cold rolled steel for 2000$… crazy prices, last spike was when the tariffs hit and we were selling it at 700
the line is scheduled for end of the month now. Was chatting with a buddy down there and he said since the suppliers been having a hell of a time keeping up to them they pushed back MY22 customer orders till August 1st
