  1. Traded my gladiator

Back in the 70's a friend had a CJ 5 (maybe a '71?) with those big "desert dog" tires, we drove it up from Florida to Ohio no top, we were ready to quit before we made it to Georgia. We were young and stupid....talk about a rough loud ride...but boy I'd love to have that Jeep today....
  2. Code p300

I'm not clear on whether you took it to an independent shop for the second opinion, or another dealer? I'd shy away from dealers for this kind of work, "replace" seems to always be really high on their flow charts.....sometimes before "diagnose".....
  3. Windshield Defense - A little insurance goes a long way

I don't think the new windshield I had installed was much over $250....so what's the point? The glass guy did say Jeeps are one of the most common windshields to replace, in part because they are so flat and because where some go. But they are one of the cheapest if you don't have all the...
  4. Error code P0341 Camshaft position sensor ’A’ circuit range bank1 or single sensor

It's been almost 2 weeks for me since the repair and I have had zero problems. They did the "Jeep" fix plus found loose connector pins and replaced that connector(s). It's working for me, my situation was intermittent, not constant.
  5. Wire Routing to fusebox on JTD

I want to hard wire my dash cam and it needs 2 power feeds (switched/unswitched), the hard wire kit has excellent connectors for the fuse box, but what's the best route? I've seen videos that the Wranglers (gas) have a grommet behind the glovebox, but the diesel firewall and engine compartment...
  6. 2026 Jeep Recon Spotted (New Pics: Silver & White Recons)

The problem with these EV's is for the size they are HEAVY....
  7. 2026 Jeep Recon Spotted (New Pics: Silver & White Recons)

I just had a Compass as a service loaner, boy was I happy to give it back! Twin exhaust on a 4 cylinder that doesn't even get the economy of my Glad diesel.....
  8. Error code P0341 Camshaft position sensor ’A’ circuit range bank1 or single sensor

Got mine back after 3 days, they did the "fix" of re-routing the wires and shielding, but they found something I haven't heard mentioned here. There were loose pins on the cam sensor wiring harness connectors (three pin connector). That would actually better explain the problem than "electro...
  9. Error code P0341 Camshaft position sensor ’A’ circuit range bank1 or single sensor

Took mine in yesterday, they have given me little information so far other than "parts are ordered and supposed to be in today", the advisor is going to give me a call this morning with more information. I'm just hoping I get it back today, the "to die for" Compass I have as a loaner isn't...
  10. Error code P0341 Camshaft position sensor ’A’ circuit range bank1 or single sensor

Heating of wires can change the resistance of the wire and depending on what they are doing would make sense as the problem, repeated heating could make the damage permanent. It's like burning the windings in an electric motor. I thought having the problem after a brief shutdown of a hot...
  11. Error code P0341 Camshaft position sensor ’A’ circuit range bank1 or single sensor

Well looks like I'm in the club now, 2023 with 29k on it. I guess I'll see what the dealer does, is there a consensus that the "fix" the engineers came up with works? I hope I don't have to jump through too many hoops to get my dealer to proceed with fix. I've had no operational problems...
  12. Mopar Auxiliary Switch Bank Installed

I'd like to see the same. I've seen there is a grommet on the gas versions but don't see it on my diesel, I'm wondering about the best way to rout wires through the firewall in the diesel, and am considering that switch kit while I'm at it.
  13. Death wobble on New 2022 Gladiator Sport S

I would file a complaint with the NHTSA. If they get enough similar complaints they can require Jeep to issue recalls and further look into the problem. We had a Durango that had fuel tank vent problems that made it spit about a quart of gas out after fueling. It had enough similar complaints...
  14. Diesel oil filter; any made in USA?

Thanks and Oh yeah on the fuel filters. That other thread still doesn't answer whether there is a US made part. Your photo kind of confirms what I saw that Wix makes the Mopar filter, and it's Chinese. Some online cross references show filter media, not the whole can and are incorrect. Not...
  15. Diesel Oil Filter No Longer Available?

As far as I have seen all filters for the 3.0 diesel are now made in China, I think I saw Wix (owned by German Mann) makes the filter for Mopar, if it's Wix it's made in China. I have my "free" first change coming up at my dealer and I want to see what goes in. I ordered one from Doc's and it...
  16. What kind of Def Fluid to get at Parts Store?

I buy the Platinum from Menards where they sell a lot so it's fresh. Wasn't sure but read studies that said it was worth the expense if you look long run. A friend has a Duramax with about 200k on it, always bought the cheap stuff and is now having big DEF system problems. I'll take the...
  17. Diesel oil filter; any made in USA?

Bought Willys Diesel a few weeks ago and I'm one of those who always likes to have filters and fluid on hand. As I've looked a the oil filter it appears you can't just change the media, and so far every brand I've looked at is made in China. Has anyone come across a quality made in USA, or...
  18. We're in a Beachy Mood!!! Show us your Rig on Sand!

My first trip to Cape Hatteras was 1967, we camped back then, usually at the Cape Point campground (park service), then got more into rentals, then had a family house in Frisco until a few years ago. It was my uncle who first went there in 1957 when the park was pretty new, and you could camp...
