Thank you for this information! Very interesting. I read the dealer service report stating what they did and they mentioned the pins being loose but did not say what they did about it. Do you know how they addressed the loose pins? Looks like they rerouted wires and installed a new harness??? Can you keep us posted each week for a while about how things are going with the fix?

And in the case of one Chines company, it was traced to the women doing electronic assembly work - because of body chemistry changes certain times of month - there were periodic surges in failures, and then back to ok, then xx days later, another surge in failures..............
The solution was - everyone wears gloves, especially certain times. It slowed things a bit, but got rid of the periodic failures.
I applaud your use of "periodic" and "surge" . I see what you did there, crafty.

Loose pins would be interesting. I don't think it's the overall cause. At least for me, the MIL light only comes on at startup, never when driving down the road. I don't think loose pins would be causing problems only when I start it. I'm more inclined to think electrical noise/interference or other transient electrical condition occurring between start button press, starter crank, and the end of the starter crank cycle. A lot of power is drawn by the starter, the voltages can dip etc etc. I've thought about throwing the cheap oscilloscope on the cam sensor and look every time I start it. mostly out of curiosity. I'm guessing its not something I would visually see in a waveform, but something more subtle.

Mine only does it on cold starts. It will fail to remote start every once in a while because of this code. I just clear the code and it's good for a few months before it won't remote start again.

Not much with these. They aren't like a FoMoCo 4 1/2" direct drive on a 1973 car.
If your batteries are getting weak, aren't fully charged, that's different, but these also will refuse to crank if it gets so low as to be a risk (and the aux battery handles electronics anyway)

My wifey's Compass had starting problems when the battery voltage was 11.8. Had to replace both batteries.

I was on a worksite and mine had been starting no problems and suddenly went dead.. I mean dead dead. Not even a click. No radio lights total zip.
I was stuck a ling way out . Well one of the guys had jumper cables I was scared to jump it . But I did and it didn't hurt anything luckily. Drove straight to the parts house and bought a new main. That was 2/24/24

@ShadowsPapa is it dangerous to jump these trucks?
No.
In fact, the Grand Cherokee actually has posts on the fender for connecting jumper cables - jump points.
What a lot of people forget is that a dead or "empty" battery is like a bucket with a hole. Your "jump pack" or donor vehicle MAY have to replenish a bit of that before it can overcome the dead batteries enough to effectively jump start the vehicle.
People connect cables and instantly try to start - and gee, it's not working.

They said they replaced the connector.

It's been almost 2 weeks for me since the repair and I have had zero problems. They did the "Jeep" fix plus found loose connector pins and replaced that connector(s). It's working for me, my situation was intermittent, not constant.

Thank you again for the updates. If you don’t mind let us know if the problem comes back. Cross our fingers that yours is fixed. I am heading in for help with my Gladiator at the dealer soon. However I have not had an issue for about 2 weeks and have not started any kind of fix as of yet. I was having issues every 2-3 days with the CEL coming on with the PO341 code. Now that outside temps are starting to drop due to season change I wonder if that is the reason I have not had a CEL for a while. I’m assuming heat is the major reason for the problem.

Got hit with 49,998 miles. Find that interesting as most seemed to have been pretty early on. Will just clear it and see what happens. Anyone know if this falls under the powertrain warranty or am I
going to be out of luck on repairs?

Side note on the jumping battery. I jumped my wifes car and a week later the jeep battery was shot. Hadnt had my auto stop work for a year plus even with the dealership replacing the aux battery and now the auto stop works again when I replaced the main one.

They didn't check the main battery too? They only replaced the aux battery? Wonder if they charged it before installation..............

Aux was replaced a year ago. The start stop worked for a couple months then stopped. Since I dont like the idea of the start stop I just ignored it. Only replaced the aux with it being under warranty going to the dealership for the fuel pump recall anyways.
