I am in your camp and will be the first to admit that I over maintain also, but it has never got me a lick extra in value when selling or trading off to the next entity.
Unless selling a exotic, collectible or high priced heavy equipment, the extra maintenance never translate to more value.
How else they suppose to do it?
They are not doing closed course instrumented EPA approved MPG testing but normal everyday driving. They state up front they do the speed limit where possible but on any given day, traffic may dictate they may speed up or slow down to avoid being a traffic...
I would be careful in how you present it and avoid talking about any slush and spraying the underside. Even though we have a "off road" vehicle, some dealerships get weird if they find water or mud intrusion into stuff and put the blame back on you and refuse a warranty fix.
TFL's MPG testing loop is one of the more consistent things they do with every vehicle. It is a 111 mile loop around Denver starting and stopping at the same gas station and pump.
I guess you can warranty it but like anything, they may damage more things getting into for the fix.
Had 4 JT's and a JL and never seen anything like this. Would not say it is normal.
Well then to be Captain Obvious, probably dust from the windshield replacement. Pretty sure the lens is a removeable and replaceable item it you cannot get it clean.
Since you got a 2024+, it is a little more complicated to get to the cluster to get it out but there is a few YouTube videos on...
Example:
New vehicle cost $50K
Trade in vehicle is $30K
You only pay tax on $20K for the new vehicle and not the full $50K
That is why if you decide to private party sell your vehicle and not use it as a trade in, you have to make sure the over and above from wholesale trade in cost and...
Basically described the 3rd Gen Ford Ranger that died out in 2011. Peak year was 348K sales and last year sales in 2011 was 19K. Fleet sales was the only reason it was not killed 2-3 years earlier. The consumer market moved on from basic.
What is considered minimum basic today is way different...
Back in 2015, RAM launched the truck version of the 6.4 HEMI for their 2500/3500 trucks. On the RAM Youtube page back then there was a Q&A video with the RAM division President and RAM Chief Engineer and the question was asked if 0W-40 was actually required (?) as that was the only grade called...
Done similar. Parked in front of sales usually because service lot is full and watch the sales staff start poking heads up like prairie dog with the usual sales guy standing by the door waiting to pounce as soon as I get out. Giving the wave off and pointing to service with a smile and watching...
High zinc does not translate well to modern vehicles and can cause premature Catalytic Converter failures. Also, more zinc becomes self limiting and can actually increase wear due to higher acidity.
Old school thinking was good for the old stuff, not so much for the new stuff.
