Nice rig. How's the pedal monster working for you? I installednone on my 21 JTRD and it was great for about 24 hours. Then it threw a CEL and a Service Electronic Stability Control system warning. It wouldn't shift past 3rd gear.
Off road fast- Mojave
Off road slow (rocks)- Rubicon
On road soft and floaty - Rubicon
On planted, firm, but not rough - Mojave
Want the diesel? - Rubicon
To be honest, the best thing to do is drive them back to back if you can and decide for yourself which you personally prefer.
That sounds like a lot, but, did it go through and active regen or something during that time? Mine has a little over 4000kms on it now. I was at 100% DEF for somewhere above 3300kms, then it has used about 25% since then. I feel like DEF usage is not linear at all.
Sure, everyone brings up the MM Warranty Act. But....let's say you blow the engine on your rig. They deny warranty because there's mud underneath and they claim abuse/offroad use. This could happen even on a stock vehicle (and has). What's your recourse and how do you use the Act? You can...
What I'm saying is that once moving in a straight line, the lsd isn't that much of an advantage over an open diff. If you want to go sideways (think drfit), an lsd is your friend. If you're moving in a straight line in low traction environments, an open diff is fine, even moreso nowadays with...
Almost made 2 years before this thread was brought back from the dead!! Nice find Steelpony.
Side note, that 37" tire and 4.5" lift stuff is 100% just made up numbers someone told at your dealership. The truth is, they can deny warranty on stock vehicles if they feel like it, want to, and...
I couldn't agree more. Such a terrible, terrible decision. I betcha there's a lawsuit coming, so many Bronco Sport owners duped into thinking they were buying "the new Bronco!".
Dude, have you driven a late model turbo vehicle? Completely different than throwing turbo parts at a 70s 4 cyl motor. Like, not even close. Laughably different.
That being said, ecodiesel all the way. Love my JTRD. 440 torques ftw.
I have a few questions and comments.
Is this your first 4wd vehicle?
Are you using 4wd in these situations or just rwd? To be honest, the way you describe these situations, you should probably be running in 4wd, which will help immensely.
A lsd will help you get moving in low traction...
If you're not interested in 37s, but want more capability offroad, I would suggest perhaps considering a 3" lift. Yes it will give you more wheel gap, but will give you roughly the same approach, breakover, and departure angles of 37s on a 2" lift, and will allow you to keep the stock gearing...
I don't disagree, and I love the thought of a smooth turbocharged I6 in a JT/JL (it may even be enough to convince me to swap my diesel with the current state of diesel fuel prices in my area), I just find it hard to believe that Jeep would actually give us the power we've been asking for since...
This definitely seems like more a replacement for the 5.7 and 6.4 V8, not the 3.6. That being said, I expect that anything that currently does not get a hemi (ie. JT) will not get the new Hurricane I6. One can certainly hope though.
It needs more TORQUE, not HP. Have you driven an Ecodiesel JT? Only 260 hp, but 440 lb/ft. I have yet to wish for more HP after a couple months of ownership. I can't remember where I got this, but one of my favorite auto quotes is "people buy HP, but they drive torque".
I love this answer. The following is my signature here, and was a quote I came across on a forum back in....2008? 2009? or so, and is so true. I don't own a sxs, sled, atv or any other offroad toy, and this is why (I added the sleeping quarters part just recently):
It is an expensive rock...
