My Rubicon is still fairly stock, 33's and the 4.10 gearing. I did put a Smitty XRC bumper and a winch on it that added about 140 lbs. and dropped the front about 5/8" and added to the rake. I'm biding my time looking at what is coming out in lifts and leveling kits. Leveling the JT out would...
Curious as to the MPG folks are getting and with what models and options.
I'm averaging about 20 MPG now after 3200 miles. JT Rubicon.
Milage was pretty bad at first averaging around 16 till about 1500 miles. Really started improving after that. My avg includes towing a boat, long drives into a...
I would avoid putting any lighting on the A - Pillars as they tend to reflect off the hood too much. I did that on my JKUR HR and regretted it . On my JT I did this instead. I would keep all my lights either above the windshield or below the hood
Well coming from a "16" JKUR-HR with the 10th Anv steel bumper with wings. I'm glad my JT Rubicon did not come with the 3 piece bumper. The first mod I did was put the Smitty XRC stubby bumper on it. I got it on sale at $400 and the thing is really built solid. Heard lots about the paint on...
I have a Rubicon I bought off the lot with no bedliner. I have to say the paint in the bed is very thin and scratched through with just putting a couple of plastic diesel cans in it. Line -X bedliner is on the horizon pretty quick. I wonder if this has any bearing on this issue.
I'm thinking...
It was the forward collision warning. Adaptive cruise does not need to be on. It warns me every so often. usually when a car slows to make a turn on a curve. Puts the radar right on his bumper.
I measured 5/8" on one side and 3/4" on the other. Added about 140lbs if I did my math right. I was expecting more.
Looking at the whole set-up I would say you can run 35" tires without any suspension work.
As of 7/1/19 my mods are. New front bumper and winch, Some lights and a few interior things. I also baptized it last week up at the cabin. Videos to follow when I figure out how to edit and post them
I'd be interested. I live in SE WI but have a cabin up in the NE part of the state. Lots of fun trails up there. BTW I brought this home from the dealer on 6/1/19
Really I think once you get the system down and have a ready place to hang the doors and place the top. You can go from totally enclosed to stripped bare in about 15 minutes. The top is pretty light but still needs two to remove. I will be coming up with an easy way to hoist it off pretty quick.
Kind of a known issue and it has befuddled FCA forever. A friend who is a close friend of a jeep dealer in Ohio said It's a 1 in 3000 thing. Heat and flexing at slow speeds seems to be the trigger. I tried to be patient as I really liked the JKUR HR but patience has its limits.
