Got my hose storage just about done. Just a few more pieces to print to hold the ends, final placement checks, marking and drilling the holes for rivet nuts and rivets and final mounting. I’m tired of messing with hose bags, so I 3d printed this solution for the void space in the Diamondback.
This isn’t a quiet ride issue. I’m running 37” mud tires, I’ve got a cyclonic snorkel prefilter right outside the drivers window and I usually drive everywhere with the top open and windows down at 70-80 MPH. I live with noise.
This particular Sunrider was defective from The factory. Bestop...
There’s no rational reason not to do the recall despite fairly low failure rates. They replace a single part that’s known to fail with one that’s designed to mitigate that problem. It takes a few hours. The work will be covered by its own warranty. If and when you go to sell or trade the...
I paid 4wheelParts around $100 to balance 5 37s on beadlocks in 22’. I mounted them. I wouldn’t trust anyone but myself to mount a beadlock and I’m not sure they did that anyway. I wasn’t particularly concerned about what I was charged given most labor rates.
Anyone else find that the Sunrider rattles its ass off when it’s closed and the rear windows only (I let the dog hang out the window) are open? Mine had a different when-closed popping noise that I fixed but I wonder if this is another manifestation of that or a different issue simply caused by...
Yes, the diesel has had issues
The Pentastar had massive issues for 2 generations that left people with lemon vehicles. The ecodiesel has burned far less consumers, in part because there are just fewer of them. But look at any Jeep forum from several years ago and it was nonstop complaints about...
I'm designing and building an air hose clip storage system for my 4-tire air inflation system. The hoses (2 per side) have to loop back running from side to side. This requires a curved track along with multiple clips. Hopefully this will work, or I've wasted a lot of PLA. This fits in the void...
Yeah, every time I talk about going further, either more extreme mods or trails, my father says “are you really going to do that with a $70k truck.” Of course with the mods it’s really more like a $95k truck. But he’s right. You can finesse a stock Gladiator down the Rubicon. I’m good with 95%...
I have the 40s bug, but to do it right it’s $18k in axles, $3K for a rear bumper/tire carrier, another $3k for ram steering, $4-6k for long arm suspension. And ideally you do what AMW does and reinforce the frame. Then there’s the whole 5 lug or 8 lug decision and new wheels to match. And with...
You may need more bumpstop with 39s. My 37s have never rubbed with either spring. Personally I don’t mind rubbing when off road depending on where it is. You may only need to adjust the steering stops only. The AEV bump stops could use an upgrade to adjustable hydraulic ones anyway if you do...
The bigger issue is the spare and axles. I can barely fit a deflated 37” KM3 under the truck, but it fits. 37s are pushing it if used off road especially on the aluminum knuckles. Otherwise the shafts and ball joints can easily be upgraded. I’m about to install a steering booster on my 37s...
I run 1-2 ROAM 95L boxes but it took a lot of $$ to get them up there (Diamondback + Front Runner). You’ve only got a little over 5 feet if you include the space between the cab and the bed and a little rear overhang. The Yakima 14 is 6 feet. The 16 is 7 feet. If you need that, then you’re...
I have. I recommend it. I’m running 37s on beadlocks. I measured at the time of the install and generally AEV understates their lift heights. I believe it was about an inch of lift. My 2.5s gave me 3 inches. The 3” springs gave me about 4”. The main thing is that it gave me my rake back when the...
These sound a lot better than the Kenwoods IMHO. Mine have developed a rattle though. The Kenwoods did too. Might be the mounting, or the lower dash again. I’ll have to check. They screw into cheese.
I’m a diehard DIY’er, but Dent Doctors are artists. Even my father who is a self-proclaimed “body and fender man” would say, “just call the Dent Dr.”
