Teleworking as much as possible, taking walks around the neighborhood, and did a little yard work yesterday. Will add that the Gladiator is cleaner than it's been in a while cause every time I go into the garage, I find myself wiping on it. Made the mistake of trying to venture out to support...
Finally got the new wheels. Fuel Ammo's, 17 x 9, +1mm off-set. Sit outside the fender 2 inches more than when same tires were mounted on stock rubi rims. Love the stance now! Drives and handles no differently than before.
Had same problem on Ram 1500. Check connections and seal (water got in) worked for awhile then had to have camera replaced. Dealer did it under warranty. Believe Jeep uses the same camera and wiring as 1500. Easy fix tho.
Thanks guys, exactly what I was looking for, and again sorry for the initial confusion with the -12mm reference. I just can't help but think that the tires are "pinched" on the 7.5" rims and would function better on a wider rim. "Honey, the guys said I need new wheels, really, they did"!
No one says -12mm is recommended, my intent was to state that wheel width for 35” tires are anywhere between 8 and 11 inches depending on manufacturer. I’m running Nitto Ridge Grapplers so a slightly wider wheel is recommended. The off-set doesn’t matter in this case.
I hate to create another wheel thread, but I haven't exactly seen this covered. My JTR is running stock wheels (17 x 7.5) with 317/70/17 tires which makes the handling and ride very tolerable. I want to put 17 x 9 wheels with -12MM off-set on it which is the recommend size for the tire. So the...
The MPG is all over the place, but I'm getting 16.7MPG as of this morning. Rubicon A/T, 35" tires, leveled but no lift, 2300 miles, mixture of hwy and city. My first tankful showed 18.4, I thought "not to bad" then it started dropping. Really noticed the drop after leveling the front end...
Here are a couple more pics showing the how far the tires stick-out. As far as ride vs the Falkens, I actually find the Nittos to be smoother. They seem to soak up bumps better and I swear, the steering is better (tighter) than with the Falkens. These are AT vs MT tires and I've not noticed...
Thanks Gren71. I haven't noticed any real difference in shift patterns overall and I drive 32 highway miles each day. Not sure I'll re-calibrate the speedo either since it's only off by about 1 MPH after the change.
....and lastly, new tires. Wheels are ordered but I couldn't wait. 315-70-17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on stock Rubi rims running 40 PSI. No rubbing even at full lock-lock. Ride's more smoothly than I imagined too. I'll post better pics of them tomorrow.
Aahnold wanted a few things for his b-day, namely tinted windows, Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit, N-fab podium steps, a Fox stabilizer and a stubby antenna. Now he wants new tires and wheels. Aahnold is becoming very needy.
