There's precisely one duck on my dash, a Gandalf duck given to me by my daughter. On one occasion a woman in a parking lot gave me a duck, I kept it for maybe a week and passed it on to another Jeep.
I must confess I haven't ever folded the windshield down. I keep saying I need to , just for the hell of it, but I haven't yet needed to. On my CJ5 I couldn't, because the hinges were frozen solid.
Somewhere I have a "Autobar" 12V plug-in-the-cigarette-lighter espresso maker. Italian made...
Colored wheels that are close but not the same as the body just look wrong to my eyes; they should be an exact match or completely different, and those baby poop green wheels against the tan body really clash... but that's just my opinion. I really like the color matched wheels @DirkG posted.
The stock Sport wheels are "OK", I guess, if uninspiring... but the stock tires gotta go. I replaced both with a set of Mojave takeoffs and gave the stock tires to my daughter to put on her SUV.
Just found these pix in a box while looking for something else... my first "real" Jeep after the postal Jeep I had earlier. This stream crossing was a ford on what still showed on the topo map as a road but was pretty rough. Today it's paved and lined with McMansions where 30 years ago I used...
I used Jscan to change my tire size and it took effect immediately without affecting anything else... but I have a base Sport with none of those driver assistance functions.
Jscan and Tazer work completely differently.
I'm doing OK, doing PT a month and a half after the surgery, the injury was back in September. Still have limited motion and can't lift anything, but they say that's normal and I should 100% recover. I guess it's a good thing the manual wasn't available when I bought my Gladiator, shifting...
Had to drive from CT to PA, 6 hours but the cabin is half way so I stayed over in both directions. First time at the cabin since Thanksgiving, recovery from rotator cuff surgery is a bitch. It was snowing when I arrived though it didn't amount to anything. Still nice to look at while sipping...
All these jewel boxes... 15 years ago our daughter had gotten to the point where she'd rather get cash than stuff for Christmas, but that's too cold, gotta do something fun with it. So I built a "treasure chest" jewel box, all solid oak...
...and filled it with gold dollar coins.
Two...
1970 or so, my older sister's boyfriend (later husband) had a 1949 Willys with a plywood hard top on the cab. When visiting my sister at college he gave me a ride. He wanted to take the "overland" route, but couldn't get over the snowbank so we took the road. I was still pretty smitten with...
That's kind of neat, but it looks like even folded down it takes up quite a bit of space in the bed. For that reason, it wouldn't work for me. I need access to the entire bed more than I need a cap.
Not my thing, I used to wheel with a local club that was a lot less formal. The Jamborees, along with a lot of similar events, seem geared to newbies who are unable or unwilling to learn on their own. And the bucket list types.
I decided against a tri-fold cover because if you want the bed entirely open you either have to remove the cover or block the rear window. I went with a Tyger roll-up cover and have been completely satisfied with it.
I don't get it either, but I've never understood why feel the need to present themselves as something they are not, as common as that is today. Then there's my aircraft background, where you don't use four bolts if three will handle the load (plus safety factor)... anything more costs weight...
Nothin' much, been sick the past few days with a bad cold, finally felt sorta good enough to take a hike and get some fresh air, so I drove out into the state forest a couple miles from my house to do some hiking. It's killing me that I couldn't use my skis, but I've got a torn rotator cuff...
