Don’t forget the bed full of snow ?
All jokes aside and the obvious safety/legality of it I’m seriously impressed but more so at the sum of the whole. Those conditions, sub par tools, and the total weight… glad you made it out alive!
Sorry, this may not help a ton but I do have a front runner water tank and also purchased the surgeflow water pump from them. I opted to put the tank against the back of the bed instead of going the footwell route.
I felt this would keep the load more balanced...
If you have the full Clayton lift you can simply get the 3.5” springs and a few other parts needed for that height of lift. (Brake line extensions and I would recommend either geometry correction or new front drive shaft)
The Clayton lifts all use the same control arms and track bars (outside...
Or even worse a human face or torso. Recovery is largely a game of physics with very heavy and dangerous objects. Like Shadowspapa and Rahkmalla outlined, invest in the gear but also invest in educating yourself on the SAFE use of said gear.
Good luck!
It’s a rebrand of a mass produced product out of China. There are several brand names that look almost identical aside from logos and possibly color. They are fine in a pinch for smaller car tires and inflating things around the house (footballs, bicycle tires, etc.)
I had one under the brand...
Looks to be out in the desert (San Bernardino/Mojave area) so this was likely flash flooding. Not uncommon in those parts or much of the desert (Arizona, Utah and New Mexico included) during monsoon seasons. That being said they can come in with little notice (less than two hours warning)
I...
Beyond the thickness of the steel and beefy square tubing for the control arms the lift/suspension also handles fantastically. I did a shake down on the 2.5” overland plus (with falcon 3.3) on my JTR yesterday. 3+ hours of trails, mud, ice, snow and it was a completely new animal.
I get the...
Finally did a shakedown on the new Clayton 2.5” with falcons. Soft setting on the falcons with sway bar disconnect and aired down to 18psi and it was a dream.
With your line of logic, any component as part of a system or larger mechanism that creates wear on other component/s is inherently a poor design… every component on your car has a reasonable life cycle as a part of its very engineering… hence single use bolts, crank and cam bearings, etc. the...
What does the battery system being under warranty have to do with the engineering of the ESS system? Last I checked these came with bumper to bumper warranties…
“ If you go to the dealer for a stop/start issue, it is likely to take several visits to resolve the issues.” Anecdotal evidence of...
Yes, cost is likely the largest culprit in the choice of batteries but they still fall in line with most automotive applications these days.
Aside from changing batteries more often/the convenience, I would bet there is little cost savings to consumer or manufacture to fully adopt lithium...
In what way is the ESS on the Jeep inferior in design? And please avoid blanket and emotional responses like “look at the comments on this board” as this is a small representation of the larger population.
ESS isn’t a poorly designed or engineered system. It functions perfectly fine within the...
There is more context to the comments in here the more you spend on this forum. The fact of the matter is that any thread on ESS is now a joke due to the sheer volume and hate for the function. Nothing directed at the OP outside of him touching on a subject that elicits the aforementioned...
This exactly. Exhaust tubing is generally lower wall thickness (.049 - .065) and in 304 or 321 stainless. Most quality racks are going to use .125 or 1/8” I would also add that most mounts these days are generally not friendly with large diameter round tubing.
With the way you paint the body the exterior acts as the clear coat. I would lightly sand the interior for better adhesion when I built these models. I’ve done several of these from RTR street cars to full gas off-road buggies. I’m familiar with the adhesion and risks due to the flex in the...
