I don't. But it does leave a lot of room. That is why I went with the L-track, the low profile. I haul motorcycles frequently and the higher profile systems really seem to add torque to the small bolts that hold the track. L-track does not do this. The rings lock in place really nice too.
I am thinking the same thing for my Viair. As long as it is not touching the plastic panels and you keep the seat folded down till it cools, you should be fine. They do get hot though.
I had a Viair that lasted through three vehicles. Used it a lot. I let it go with the last vehicle and I just bought a new one for the Gladiator. The Viair is a good option. I have no experience with the ARB personally.
You can take one of the screws out of the panel on the inside of the tailgate and chase the threads out with it, if you don't want to purchase a thread chaser. Mine had the factory bedliner installed and I used one of those screws to clean out the threads.

I think the biggest problem would be road salt on the wheel. It is going to be hard to keep it clean while it is under the truck. That would be the damage I would be concerned with.
