I ran 37's on similar wheels and a 1.5" leveling kit while I waited for my Clayton lift to come it, street duty only. It only rubbed on big dips. With no leveling kit I'd imagine it would have rubbed a lot more.
I've never driven a Mojave and have always been curious about how much better the ride quality actually is..... What's your opinion? After driving it do you wish you had gotten that model?
This may be your answer right here. I'm not sure if all trim levels get a unique door sticker, but I doubt it. The median of the weight difference between a base model no frills soft top sport model vs a loaded down Rubicon with a hard top is probably right around the difference you're seeing.
Still working in it. RPM Steering has agreed to send me a replacement drag link end after they return from the holiday break. I'll report back once I install it.
I was going by the instructions that came with the Clayton lift kit:
https://www.claytonoffroad.com/sites/default/files/product_instructions/1709101%20Instructions.PDF
It says to torque all the front upper control arm bolts to 80 ft-lbs.
I'm pretty convinced the noise is coming from the drag link. See video.
I know I didn't get this much racket from the drag link when I first put the RPM steering kit on. Anyone else that has the RPM stuff experiencing this?
Yeah, re-torqued the track bar. I'm kind of thinking the end joints too but it's bizarre since there doesn't seem to be any play in them, and they're relatively new.
Definitely a new noise that has gotten worse over the last few months. I installed the lift about 18 months ago, and the RPM steering kit about a year ago.
Can't seem to duplicate it by shaking anything on the front end or turning back and forth. Seems to happen when hitting bumps no matter if I'm turning or not. I even tried jacking the axle up and dropping the jack down suddenly to try and duplicate it.
I tried running with the sway bar disconnected - noise still there. Not much rotational movement on the drag link - maybe a few degrees at the most. I initially thought that's what was going on, so I stuck a GoPro under the truck and drove around to confirm. I was totally expecting to see...
I have a knocking noise in my front that's driving me nuts. It happens mostly over small chatter bumps. I've torqued everything, there doesn't seem to be any play in the ball joints or tie rod ends. Drag link ends have no play. Everything seems tight. I cannot seem to pinpoint it and it's...
The parts catalog lists 68254067AA for my Willys model as well, but it came with 68251580AE. I've since put a Fox ATS on it.
Are you having issues with yours?
That stinks, I have the same one - no issues. Have you tried hitting it with some penetrating oil? I would say maybe try a hammer impact with the appropriate sized flathead bit but you might muck it up.
Just unmarried, updated, remarried and went through settings, performed two sleep cycles, and still not working. It gives two or three flashes on the right tail, and then doesn't work. Brake and turn still work on both sides.
Nope, honestly have been scared to since everything has been working fine up to this issue. Didn't want to fix something that wasn't broken. I'll go ahead and try that.
